Default Carb intake,pic request.

I am running a carb style intake on my new motor. Its a GMPP with an aarons intake elbow, on a set of LS7 heads. Question is what is everyone doing for an air filter off the TB? I wont be running a MAF, and would like to still use my FIPK filter. I was thinking of using a 4" piece of exhaust pipeing with some silicone couplers. Anyone have any ideas, maybe a pic or 2? Thanks in advance

Rob

heres a couple pics:

I just put a K&N filter right on the throttle body.

K&N Part #RU-3480
It has a 4.5" flange. Depending size of the mouth of your throttle body, you might need a different size flange. You can search filters by dimensions at K&N's web site:

I have 2 45* spectre 4 inch tubes clamped together that connects to my airlid. I had the same setup on my old edelbrock elbow. Look in my signature for detailed pictures of it.

thanks for the input everyone. I am pulling my manifold off today, and bringing it to a friend of mines house so he can fab up some fuel ;rail brackets, and a throttle cable bracket. I cant do too much on it, broke my hand last week, so he's going to help me out. I am leaning towards just throwing a filter on there like Skinny did. But I am going to check out home depot today for that fernco, thanks again!

Well here is what I went with. A piece of 4" exhaust pipe off my diesel truck...lol, I had a shop weld a 3.5" piece on it to fit the air filter:

not an ls1 but here is my LT1 motor which is setup similar only using an accufab 4 barrel throttle body and a victor EFI manifold...

3.5" tubing tig welded down to behind the pass side headlight and a 9" conical K&N underneath the car where the coolant overflow tank used to be. fits PERFECT. the hat is a blow thru carb hat from procharger..
