Goin to mini-tub the SS, stock width 12bolt. 2 questions, 1. What back space wheel, 10", do I need? 2. Can this b done without narrowing the rear? 3. Planning on using offset control arms if needed. Also goin with race brakes all around. Let me hear from u folks. Phil.
Your biggest job will be clearancing your rear bumper cover and front fenders for the 30" diameter. You can run this tire with a stock length rear end and 15x10 7.5 backspace wheels. You should be fine with normal LCAs, though you will need adjustable ones. I plan on running the 295/65r/15 tire for my next set, but my car is not mini tubbed.

i would think it would look alot better and be easier to fit in the opening if the rear was narrowed to pull the tire in a few inches. obviously mini tubbing is a big job but you wouldnt have to cut as much in the wheel openeing to fit the tire and would look better tucked in. plus narrowing the rear gives you the option to put the tire in the stock location withthe right backspace wheel so you wouldnt have to minitub right away or get a rim with more backspacing and pull the tire in. another added benefit would be less rotating mass and unsprung weight.
I'm on my 3rd set of 295's. They fit easier than most think. Lose the side of the coil bucket, BFH to the front of the inner wheelwell, and trim to fit the bumper cover and the front of the quarter. Adjustable LCA's are a must but the offset ones are not.
