I can not believe all of the Bogart bashing going on. Steve is a great guy to deal with. I've had my bolted RT's for about 3 years now and have never had a problem ( other than a tire shop bending 1 of them ). They say NOT INTENDED FOR STREET USE for a reason. I have never drove on the street with mine and they have been perfect in there performance for me since day 1.

I bought a set of Bogart Bolted R/T's from Steve @ SJM and they are doing great. Absolute pleasure to deal with Steve and he was real informative. Bolt on and go.. all you gotta do with them bogarts, no grinding and no bullshit. I run the ET FRONT and ET DRAG tires on my wheels and they probably get a few thousand street miles on them per year. Doing great, balances true with barely any weights, and look absolutely amazing. You'll catch people at the track drooling over your Bogarts all the time lol.. good luck to the OP

Steve, please don't take my post as bashing...I know you did take care of me and I appreciate that...However, like I said before, after over 20 years of racing the Bogart was the only wheel failure I ever had...Maybe it was a fluke, maybe not, but the horrible feeling I had when I was driving the car and the wheel broke is something I do not want repeated...All I could think about was that failure occuring at over 120 mph and my kids not having a dad...I take enough risks at my day job...Am I being silly? Maybe, but I'm not second guessing my decision to sell them and move on to another wheel...Again, thanks for authorizing the free wheel...That was a "stand up" thing to do...

To the other one that weighed their front, I believe what you read but there's something wrong as a prostar/draglite should be ~11lbs. That would mean that ours weighed 19lbs. Even the heaviest street/strip wheel is ~12-13lbs.
the convo pro fronts were 9.5lbs...what are yours again say the d10's

^^^My bolted rear 15 x 10 weighed in at 13 each. Maybe 12 using an older scale but no lighter than 12. I will weigh my fronts when I get them mid week and post up.

.

To each his own, do whatever you want with your money.
It's getting pretty silly when you give away your wheels because you're so worried they will fail.
I know how it sound's, but nobody posting so far runs harder than I do, & I'm keeping mine.
I even have spares & I'm keeping them also.
I admit, I don't do high, slam down wheelies, or ever ever drive on a street.
I do low, but long wheelies and set down pretty gentle.
I also have many many 1.00-1.01 60' which I assume can put more stress than a 1.20-1.30??
Again, to each his own & do what's best for your piece of mind. I just think it's getting a little crazy.
This is a dangerous hobby and 100% do what you think is safer. Good luck everyone.

I don't know why people get so upset about broken or bent DRAG wheel's when they pull big wheelies, make a lot of power or drive them on the street?

Do people expect thing's to be bullet proof and never break? Drive an Alumastar on the street and see what happens.........

Or do this, have someone make you a CNC one peice titanium wheel with no bolt's bolding it together or weld's......... I doubt it will ever break or bend but most would never want to pay for it........

The lighter people want part's the weaker those part's become........

This thread it getting retarded and giving wheel's away is even more so........ Ill take them all day long for free haha and to the OP when you have a used wheel that you don't know the history on then you can't get mad at the company when it fail's..... for all you know the previous onwer beat on them..........

Got the fronts today they weighed in at right at 10lbs with the valve stems installed.
So 10 for the fronts and 13 for the rears.

I don't think everyone is bashing Bogart's, but people are concerned. I had a front bolted rt fail and was running the approved mt tires but to be fair they did see small street use maybe a thousand miles. I was able to get both my fronts replaced no questions asked, now thats great customer service. Which is why I went on to buy another set of Bogarts bolted rt rr for the street. There is no question Steve is a stand up guy but all you guys running their drag stuff on the street are just asking for trouble they are a drag only rim.

We also had a front bogart brake 1 day after one year. It broke on the street with a VW front tire on it going about 5mph. Steve stepped up to the plate and took care of it, great customer service. We had bogarts on 4 cars, and still have bogarts on all of them. It is a little concerning though to see more breaking. I still cant say enough about there great customer service.

Are they going to fix your car after you stuff it into the wall when a rim breaks?

I believe that a shop I know had one break on the highway while they were coming back from Drag Week two years ago.

My friend broke a holeshot front wheel. they are light but weak... but what do you expect? They are racing wheels. I use Bogarts and they have been great to me, although i don't run them on the streets much.

...Or how about when a torque arm breaks and blows his two air bags as which happened to someone last week who posted in here. They weren't even moving yet. How much did that cost to replace the air bags, dash and whatever else was damaged when the weld failed on the welded tube-end.

...Or when you spent 2500.00 on a rear-end that broke....posts I've read many times before.

...What about the guy, whose torque arm broke, took out the driveshaft, cut the floorboard up and broke the tailshaft on the transmission.

...Or how about a k-member that broke and the person crashed the car.

Manufactures do not want to see their parts break, but things happen, racing is a hard sport. Most help and go beyond the call of duty to repair/replace components. Every one of the company's drag wheels who someone else suggested was "better" or they were "glad" they purchased them HAS broken and will continue to break. They are designed for drag racing. Use them for something else and you're taking a greater risk of failure.

Some of you guys need to stick to a stock car forget about racing. O wait! Those stock parts have failed too! Better drop the keys, step away from the car and use your two legs to get from one place to another.

Love my Bogarts. I have had them on the SS for six years. They have handled from a 200 shot out of hole - only about 700rwhp; to today's set-up. Last year they handled over 1K rwhp and next year they will be on my new set-up (should be 1300-1400 rwhp).

I only wish I could afford a new complete set of Bogarts.

Any - I mean any thing can fail. If you can't afford to make the repairs, DON'T race. Nothing in life is free.

(or how about a turbo that snaps a shaft, taking out your $20K motor )

David

Just wanted to say I LOVE my bogarts. I have a full set of bolt D10s and have never had an issue. I have had them for 3ish years and must have over 1,000 miles of street driving, and 100+ passes. I always use Moroso DS2s up front, and MT ET drags in the rear.

Like mentioned by many others, Steve has taken great care of me everytime I have placed an order. I had an issue with a linelock and it was handled immediatly, to my 100% satisfaction.

I know it sucks to see a wheel break, but how many other RACING parts fail everyday and nobodys bats an eyelash???? Shortblocks....rears, trannys, turbos, TIRES ets....

Everyone who knows a lick about racing that has looked at my wheels has GAWKED at their craftsmanship. They are great wheels, and I would definitly buy another set.

I have a wheel BS 17x7 that looks just like that I had it for a month and hit a pot hole they told me to just buy a new one. I asked from a deal directly from BS but they said they wouldn’t under bid there distributers and because I had got the wheel from dragwheelz.com I didn’t have a distributer that would cut me a break on the rim. I tried to buy one from Virginia Speed and after waiting for about 6 weeks they said they still didn’t know when BS would have my wheel to me. So I canceled the order. so now I have one bent rim and one that is sitting in the closet. 500+ dollar lesion learned shit happenes

I'm curious, why should a wheel company swap your wheel out if you hit a pot hole? I mean, if you were just driving along and the wheel came apart, I'd think that the wheel company should seriously consider helping you out (as long as the wheels aren't old).

In Illinois you can try claiming damage from potholes through the Department of Transportation, or from the city itself.
