Default Traction problems @ track - because of suspension mods?

Had my second ever track night last night and I am having some serious traction problems when I shift into second - I almost completely lose the car sideways, and get wheel hop. I also get wheel hop when I do my pre-run burnout.

A few years ago I did the "hose mod" on the rear to drop it about 1/2 inch. I'm wondering if this has something to do with it?

Here is my best run of the night:

60' 2.161
330' 5.823
1/8 8.767 84.41
990' 11.251
1/4 13.354 107.2

Mods - lid, Pacesetter LT's, cutout, Diablo tune.
Tires - Goodyear Eagle F1GS D3 (285/40-17)

Thanks for any guidance.

You're not running a drag radial or slick/bias-ply race tire, and that is your first problem. You can never hope to achieve full traction until you do so. On the dropping the rear 1/2" I can't comment on that one since I've not done it.

I agree that tires will help - any other thoughts on the impact of the hose mod anyone?

Get rid of the goodyear tires and put some mickey thompson drag radials first. Since you did the hose mod you need to get you some adjustable lower control arms and lower control arm relocation brackets welded to your rear end. Try that first, then consider getting a adjustable torque arm. Hope this helps

I had a 1.59 60 ft. with the hose mod. I agree you need some drag radials.

I have cut 1.47 60's plenty of times with a stock cubic inch motor with the stock torque arm, and I did the hose mod without the hose.

The hose mod is not your problem. Buy a set of DR's or slicks and lca relocation brackets.

32of32, just trying to push you in the right direction. Look into getting a set of lca relocation brackets while your at it.

I will. I'll do up a search to educate myself - unless anyone has some good links for me
