Cool, I'll look for you out there then. Hope to have my car ready as well, I'll be in the same WCHRA 275 class, but I won't fit the PSCA rules. I hang out in the Bowman camp so stop by and say hi, look forward to seeing your car ...I'll also be at SCSN in Vegas Nov. 19-22nd..

Sounds good. My name is Eric Gustafson and my car is a Red 02 WS6. Dave has his car running well and you hang out in good company. I will definitely come by and say hi. I also might head out to SCSN to help out Armen with his 57 Chevy. BTW, I love your comment in your sig... "Money Pit from Hell" Tell me about it!

I'll look for you there, Armen has a bad ass car. To bad Artis hit the wall last time out (I think Armen did to but minimal damge), that was another bad ass car on the juice...I changed my sig when it seemed like everytime I bought stuff I wrote a check out for $4k or more no matter what it was .

Alright so I just returned from dropping the car off at the chassis shop. We outlined the things we are going to do and pretty much decided to start over again on key safety items.

The old cage is going to be removed and replaced with a new Chromemoly 25.2 cage. The car will be mini tubbed, fuel cell relocated to rear hatch area, a Fab 9 rear end will be put in and a new anti roll bar with double links installed between the frame rails...hence the removal of the aluminum stock sumped tank. On the front end we are going to remove all bumper and radiator core supports and add chromemoly tubing. In addition we will be putting in motor and mid plates as well. Looking at replacing the K member too and need to research that a bit.

Anyhow, we have a lot of work to do but it should come out nice and ready to go!

The new racecraft setup is the shizzit. That setup pulls the front tires in an inch, is really a nice racy piece and is the lightest thing out there. Uses a 3rd gen brake too that's cheaper with the lw spindles, I'm ordering mine end of this month.

We should get together with madman, see if there's a discount for ordering multiple setups, they just drop ship to the seller anyway.

With the midplate, take a look at how john from tsp did his. that's the way to go, put studs in to hold the tranny in place, open the tunnel up above the tranny a little and pulling the tranny will be a snap, 1 man job in 15 min on a lift with it that way.. I'm adding it to my list now.

Thanks and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I talked to Wes about 2 weeks ago and he said he was getting ready to make some shakedown runs in his new car. It looks sick!

Good idea going 25.2, I'll throw out there that going 25.3 is not that much more work, I bought the spec book a couple weeks ago myself. Your mini tubbing now for possible bigger tires later? I should have done that...

Minitubbing will pull 30 lbs out of the car too.

I'll look into that and see. Going 25.2 gives me a lot of flexibility in the future and is more than enough for the car. Mini tubbing is mainly for the weight savings and its nice to know we could throw bigger tires on if we want to go faster... like a 10.5 class or 315 Radial, etc...

I went 25.2 as well and will need it if I do any 1/4 mile stuff as well as yourself if you plan on going better than 8.50's. I have to weight over 3500# myself and would have done the 25.3 if the spec would have been out at the time. If you stay light your good with the 25.2, I just like to overkill in the safety department.

I agree with JL on the Racecraft front end, it's very nice and I like that it shortens the A-arms by an inch. I think am going to dump my brand new BMR turbo K-member and MadMan rack to switch over, so that might be 3 kits there for a small group purchase .

I currently have the BMR K member with a manual rack as well and was wondering if I'll have to replace the current rack I have. Either way I'm leaning towards the Racecraft front end too. I'll just have to replace my current Strange rotors with the 3rd gen ones and keep my calipers.

In regards to the 25.2 set up we are going to get the car below 3200lbs with me in it but I agree on the overkill in safety so I will look into it. Who knows when I'll decide to go BBC... J/K!!!!!

if you ever do go BBC I'd be willing to recycle your dart billet setup free of charge.

Make sure you get us some pics too, this setup sounds insane.

Careful, I said that too, built a nice new LSX 427 and changed my mind right after it was built, I'm doing a BBC now .

Here's some pictures from the chassis shop. The car is apart and ready to evaluate what we are going to do. As you can see there is a lot of wiring that was behind the dash and all of that is going to be eliminated. Anyhow, here is what we are working with and a good start to see how the car will transform. Can't wait to start posting pics of some of the work we will do. Also, Dart is going to start machining the block next week and will take pictures of the process. Thanks.

Just an opinion, but I would do 25.3, instead of 25.2. 25.2 max weight is too light for most classes. 25.3 was intended for cars just like yours. Maybe you won't need it, but if you ever sell it, it will be worth more with a 25.3 IMHO.

We are looking into it and waiting for the 25.3 SFI book to arrive. I agree on the potential resale value and will know what we are doing soon.

The main difference is going to be two extra bars under the car to the rear. I concur also with the resale value.

I see about 50lbs worth of wire and matting in that pic . Are you going to have to get another dash now? I can send you pics of how my stuff turned out if you want...
