Default UPDATE PAGE 2...I gave in to the weight reduction itch. Weights inside

I got an itch to take some weight out of the car

Heres everything thats been taken out of the car. I weighed everything on a digital bathroom scale and did it a few times over to make sure it was correct.

Air pump and all attachments-8
Stock disk changer-8
T top holders-2
Windshield wiper reservoir-2
Spare tire and jack-35
Stock TC 50 minus Yank Tc 30-20
A/C-33
Back seats with seat belts/bolts-33
Front pass seat with seat belt-35
Front bumper support-19.2
rear bumper support-20.8
carpet 50.4

TOTAL 264.4LBS

Now if only I knew how much weight savings the car has with the lts+ory+catback. Anyone know how much pacesetters, tsp ory, and non adjustable borla weight?

I never weighed the car but I need to find out where I can do it. I would figure it weighs around 3150.
I didnt touch the black matting under the peddles the goes to the pass side also. Anyone know what that weighs?

Ok, so what do you suggest it weighs? The car and time in sig was full weight from factory around 3440 correct? Well minus the weight I took out 264=3176
Then what about the saving from my after market exhaust? At least 20 for the cats no? 3156? And why not?

NO. I would bet money with the car in your sig with it's mods listed weighs in the 3400 lb range. You need to find a local truck fuel stop and go pay to weigh your car on the truck scales so you have a baseline but I can gaurantee you 3150 is not realistic. I am in the middle of weight reduction and I am not even close to 3150 with full lightweight front and rear suspesnion and drag brakes with bogart wheels with the same and more removed than you have listed above.

So you think the car with times listed in sig are 3400 but the weight I took out (260) wouldnt equal around 3150? I dont understand your math. It dosent add up. If you take car in sig and assume its "3400" minus weight I took out its 3140. Am I not understanding what you mean? Sorry lol

The 3440 is a dry weight with no options. Do you have drag wheels, leather seats? You will be surprised once you sit you car on the scales. I know I was the first time. Made me sick to see that big number after I removed a ton of free crap.

Go and weigh the car and if I am wrong I will admit I was wrong but I am trying to help you with the weight as you are at the stage I was at alittle while ago and I am telling you 3150 is not realistic but we can help get you there.

Anyone know what it costs to weigh your car at the weigh station? Also I did not know that it was open to the public or were you talking about a private shipper with a weigh station on their property?

Not much but any regular truck stop or fuel station like on the interstate will have a scale.

Race weight is all that matters so add the weight of the driver/rollbar in there too.

Well whatever the weight is all I know is the car lost at least 264lbs and from driving it around I can tell its a good bit of difference. I weight 200lbs. Even if I weighed 400 the car still lost measurable lbs!

I'm gonna guess that it weighs around 3280 with what you have removed. 03 Busa you need to consider that the camaro is quite a bit lighter than a TA. They have us beat by 90lbs just due to the spoiler and flip up headlights.

i removed most of what you did under the hood and front support and i was about 3300-3350 but i'm a hard top. i'd say you in the low 3200's pretty dang close to the 31's. not bad for mostly free. hell my 74 nova is 3100 and shes pretty stripped so i consider 3200 for a street car great.

ssduece ill tell you what man, that weight that came off really makes a difference. I can feel it on a launch or a sudden wot driving 65 on the highway. I love it!

Anyone know what my aftermarket exhaust weighs? I weighed my stock manifolds, y pipe with cats and catback weight is in the sticky.

You guys do realise I have nothing in place of carpet, bumper supports, or passenger seat right?

Also, what about the rubber matting under the peddles that goes to passenger side anyone know how much that weighs? I never took that out.

Cost me 10 bucks to put my car on the scale at our local truck stop. My car is 3200 with everything removed in your original post minus the bumper supports, I still have mine. I also removed ALL the hvac stuff just to give you an idea.
