For the guys running skinnies:

I ran 165/85r/15 radials on my car for a few years. They were Kumho brand. They each weighed 17lbs. I switched to the Moroso 2-ply bias tire. They each weigh 9lbs.

radial 165/85/15.......17lbs (each)
Moroso MOR-17050.....9lbs (each)

Saves 16 lbs unsprung weight

They aren't legal on the street though, and they won't last a real long time either, also not recommended for full-weight cars at all, use discretion.

this is the weight from my car

Z06 18x10.5s w/ 305-35 nittos weighed 54 lbs each (almost worn to the wear strips)
Z06 17x9s w/ cheap 275s weighed 56 lbs each (brand new)

did not understand the 18s being lighter, so the nittos must be fairly light for their size

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but under the wallet mods list is that weight saved from stock or the weight of part itself?

I'm pretty sure they're the weight saved from stock parts, although the wheel weights are actually the wheel/tire.

Don't forget to ADD that you can lose your own body weight.

Hell, if the car is going on a 'diet", so should the driver...

Got curious about a pin on/ lexan hatch.... got in a argument with i guy cuz i said it was a 75# reduction from the stocker......

Lexan sitting next to it. just Weighed it......10#
Stock Hatch w/o glass(mine window got busted outta it) 58#....just weighed it also

So......
10 Lexan Window
8 Hatch - VFN Hatch 93-02 is posted as 8# on their site
2 hardware
20# total

EDIT
Stock
58 Hatch
30??? Glass maybe
... hatch dampeners & hinges
... hatch lock/latch

...
88#

So depending how far off i was on guessing the window weight it came to 68# weight reduction

SO IF ANYONE HAS A STOCK REAR WINDOW FOR A INSTALL U SHOULD TOTALY WEIGH IT

ttop 'hump' isnt so much a hump. it is referring to the ttop tub. people remove the ttop tub and smaller tubs on each side of the ttop tub and weld in sheet metal which makes a flat trunk/hatch floor and saves weight

Couldn't find this anywhere. Stock OEM steel hood weight, stock OEM SS hood weight.
Stock steel LS1 1998 to 2002 hood with brackets and insulation=51 lbs 8 oz.
2002 OEM SS hood with brackets=51 lbs 4 oz

Both hoods repainted once.
Weighed with a certified, legal scale.
