Mini tubbing won't save 49 pounds with a typical 36" , 16" wide frame to fender mini tub job.

I cut out 49 pounds, but you'll put weight back in the car depending on the metal you use to box the frame and if the tubs are steel or aluminum.

A more accurate estimate with a typical mini tub would be right about 35 pounds weight savings.

This figure is from adding back the pieces to box in the frame on both sides out of 1/8th" trimmed pieces and the cut sheet metal tubs ready to go back in.

I made a post before and listed the weight savings for a 16" mini tub, 17" mini tub and what I cut out doing a full tub but for some reason all of the info is not posted there anymore

I think the gas tank weights might be off as well. 22 vs 23 but yet you get 18 lb weight savings under the money mods? Also the abs module is 18 lbs? God curse me now I can't believe I haven't ripped that out yet!

The TRZ Panhard Rod/ ARB kit weighs 6-7 pounds lighter than the stock stuff that it replaces. It replaces the factory rear sway bar, panhard rod and the panhard rod support brace. It is definitely a wallet mod, but it is the lightest option for these parts on the market

Gasoline is 6lbs a gallon.
Winshield washer fluid is 6-8lbs, not 10lbs.
ABS module is not 18lbs. More like 10-12.
Aerospace & Strange drag brakes save 50lbs off the front and 25lbs off the back.
The coating under the carpet is 15lbs.
Front QA1 drag shocks save 15lbs not 5lbs.
The MAF is not 5lbs. More like 1lb.
75lbs for a 8 point chrome moly roll bar. 65lbs for a 6 point.
My Mezeire electric drag pump is lighter than the stock one.
You have overflow tank in there twice.

But other than that, it looks good.

neat list, though i dont think it does any good to list stuff that you can't race without

such as
coolant overflow
t tops
tail lights
lug nuts
etc.

I believe so, yes. I need to know how to remove this and/or cap off any lines not needed. Also, do you have to drop the K-Member to take out the AC box(?) located on the left side of the motor in front of the firewall? I was told you do. Anyone have a link or directions on how to do either send to me so I can get crackin!

From what i recall the meziere race pump is 7lbs lighter than stock
The 98 steel gas tank is only about 23lbs dry, can't be 22lbs heavier than a plastic tank.

No, you don't have to drop the k-member or remove the motor. Just take out the dash and all of the bolts and parts under there from inside the car, and then remove the parts that are under the hood. It is time consuming, but when we removed the heat and passenger airbag out of my car, all of it was 60lbs.

Hello All! Please reserve your posts for facts/figures of weights only! We are happy that you got your car down to whatever weight/crack jokes, etc. but that is how the other thread got out of control with so many "comments". Thank you!

is there anyway to do the list by weight....I think that would be much better also.

what about stuff that adds weight? 10 bolt vs 12 bolt/9 inch etc.
