Default 417 rwhp/425 rwtq N/A LS1 with stock cam!

For a long time I wanted to gain more over the usual bolt ons, but I totally sure on how to go about doing this, so I gave the guys at AI a call. I’ve known the guys at AI since my LT days and we were talking about a head/cam package. The things I wanted to focus on with my car was getting the most power without the usual trade off's. I didnt want to worry about spring longevity or any of that mess because I drive nearly 30K miles a year in this car. Basically, I wanted it to drive just like stock, but just with more power. It was decided that we try out a set of their CNC 241 castings with the stock cam just to see how it does, as there's not a lot of people out there doing this.

The results are surprising. Without a lot tuning the car gained 30rwhp/30rwtq. On 3 different dynos around here it made 395-401lbft and 386-390rwhp sae. After making that much, I hoped it was possible to make 400 rwhp. So I added some 1.85 rockers. Our local shop just installed the new eddy current dynojet so I went over there to see what the car was putting down and to do some touching up on the tune if needed. The first pull the car was way fat (rockers changed it?) and went 386rwhp. We started leaning it out from 11’s AF to high 12-13AF and it just kept making more power. The stock cam is making it fall off, but the torque curve is unbelievable for the low rpm it turns. And being nearly 2 tons in weight with a stock gear, my car needs all the help it can get getting motivated and moving. I can report that this thing drives totally stock, sounds totally stock (untill I nail the throttle!) and still pulls off 30 mpg. We totally acheived my goal....and then some!

So here's the results. On the graph you'll see 4 pulls. The 360 rwhp pull is what I did with just bolt on's. The 2nd pull is where we got the car to make 407, but after a few pulls it seemed the MAF was really wanting to work with us, so we tried a speed density tune where we were able to pick it up to 417 rwhp. The last pull is without the belt on which is the way I run it at the track....it put down 429 rwhp/430 rwtq! I was totally amazed.

Those are some DAMN good numbers. So good that they make me raise a eyebrow and want to question them. Especially the torque. Cool setup though!

Pitbul its got a fast 90/90 (unported), it had that when I had just bolt on's on the 360 rwhp dyno pull in the graph, still has an IRS (and 19's on the back!). BadsSS I do have a Mezarie, it netted next to nothing by itself (loss of power the next day, then picked up 2 rwhp on a different dyno a few weeks later.

Pretty damn impressive, those guys at Ai sure know what they are doing.

These results makes me wonder why the hell I'm still modding my LT1.

Kook's 1 3/4 LT's, catless mids and bassani catback. Trust me, I've thought about running an LS6 cam or the GT2-3 cam.

Great numbers, but like all I'm wondering just how accurate they actually are. Not too say your lying, but I know older dynojet's read much lower than the newer dyno's. I think you found a nice, high-output dyno. Get that goat to the track and post some numbers.

Again, not bashing you. Very impressive numbers.

Number's were put down on a new Dynojet 224XLC with a load current option (it was turned off). Here's a graph with the heads and before the rockers on another dynojet 248X (Stable Dyno) vs the first pull with the current setup but running waaay rich (JR dyno). hey, I dont think you're bashing, I wouldnt have believe it myself either!
