If the power is dropping like a stone, it's most likely a valve control issue. If it's flatlining at 5000 rpm, it's the unlocked torque converter soaking up your power (not valve float). So what was it doing?

Very curious to see some numbers when you get it done, especially track numbers! Good luck!

Why'd you swap out the TFS springs for the PRC springs? If I recall correctly, the latest TFS springs are more like the PRC Platinum springs in terms of seat pressure. Unless you have early TFS heads??

The PRC springs I believe are 360 lbs open, the Platinum are 400 lbs open, the TFS heads come with springs that are 450 lbs open, they are the same as the AFR 8019 $100 upgrade spring.

If you took the springs that came with the heads off, then you most likely put a much lesser spring back on.

I know a guy down in Gardner KS with a 15:1cr 347, low tension rings, perfessionally ported TFS heads, single plane intake, HUGE (.65x lift) hydrolic cam and custom 12" collectors off 1-7/8s LTs with turn downs. I wouldn't even call that "max effort"!
But if you are curious he made ~470rwhp through a Neil Chance (6k rpm) converter and a TH350.
I thought that car made alot more than that

Sorry for the delay, we ran into numerous problems with the car. The transmission was junk and the converter was incorrect for the application. I finally heard the motor fire in person yesterday and it sounded great. It should be on the dyno this week.

Should be a good track car and the heads are nice and those LSL lobes are good too. I think your trans and converter were eating a lot of your power for sure.

Keep us updated. We wanna see what she runs. Each build is special and this one sounds like a strong setup and is prob gonna run mid to low 10's once you get all the bugs worked out. What are your goals for this car? I plan on building something close to this real soon also!!!
