I like this path you took, Heads first!!! Now its easy. Small cam easy big hp!!! But i like the daily driver powerband, but you can see that cam gasping at 5500 rpm. Great sleeper.

TEA is doing my 243's right now, to 61cc as well, 224 230 cam with 1.8 rockers...I think I will be happy.

I think a bigger cam on a wide LSA to hide to idle would be nice, that's assuming you install all the supporting bolt ons.

Hey Chris,

I know I'm a little late to the party but glad your happy with the results. Had a great time helping you install the new parts on your car and tuning it for ya. The results sure surprised me!

Add a underdrive pulley and 1.85 rockers and you'll be knocking on 400 RWHP with a STOCK cam.

Bill

Man, I love this build, I jump in on all stock cam builds I can find. I'll suggest what I always do and intend to do myself:
Install an 03-04 LS6 + springs and retune.
Do this plus port the TB and I bet you see 400/400 right there.
This may mean you need injectors afterwards.

Frankly, I am not surprised at all. Imagine what a ported set of AFR205s and FAST combo would do!! Not a budget setup but I am confident we can see 420/420 out of a "stock" cam on these cars with no hit to reliability or MPG. The right foot, however, may have something to say about the MPG...

I digress - Do the later LS6 cam + springs (may or may not need pushords), port the TB, and put some 30lb injectors on there - retune - POOF - sleeper car with 400/400, and she'll idle and run like stock but rev higher. That route won't break the bank either. Diggin' your build!!

Plus, when the motor does shit the bed, find a low mileage LS2 shortblock, transfer everything, and now you got 420/420 on "stock" shortblock.

the heads came with dual valve springs. and i put hardened pushrods in it also. i almost maxed the injectors the way it is now. so anymore mods and those will need to be changed. i went to the track 2 sat. ago and found out i need tranny rebuilt. it would not shift from 1st to 2nd with out a delay. sucks.
