my car dyno'd 311.9rwhp/319.4rwtq completely stock with cats and all just a k&n filter only. i added pacesetter l/t headers, custom made ory, flowmaster muffler,k&nfipk, untuned,98ss m6, and dyno'd 339.4rwhp/346.8rwtq. different dyno's though. i wish they had been on the same. all we have around here is an 1/8th mile track and my best time on street tires was 8.61 at 86mph and a 1.99 60' ofcourse that was after i aded the headers and all. i thought it was pretty good.
Is that Paradise???
Mine runs high 8.58-8.64@88-91 with a 2.0 60' there with diy ram air, muffler!, lid/filter, and a few degrees of timing. Most stock ls1s are in the 9s there (the 4 I've seen)
My brother's car with a dyno verified 359whp is a tenth quicker and a mph or two faster in the 1/4 than mine. He says mine is a freak.
My old 02 Z28 M6 made 354whp with a lid and a cutout.
Yup, Imagine the customer I was talking about with the 02 SS. All STOCK less the ZO6 cam and you all know it is barely above a stock cam, Stock airlid, exhaust ect and he made 385 RWHP??? Crazy.

What kind of elevation are you dealing with? I run 8.5~8.6 @ 84~85MPH in the 1/8th here (632ft elevation) *BONE STOCK*
I had my car dynoed a couple weeks ago. My mods are MTI Lid and SLP Loud Mouth cat back and I put down 333rwhp and 333rwtq on a mustang dyno with no tune. They said I had a very strong motor. I have the dyno sheet if anyone wants to see it.

I'm guessing on elevation but I would say 800+
Forgot to mention the track is backwoods and slightly up hill. The burnout box is a 10+ feet lower than the track and you have to drive up a hill to reach the relatively flat track and stage. There is another 1/8th pretty close by and everybody says their car is 3/4 second faster. Probably not that much but I'd say at least 2-3 tenths.
I like paradise though because it's cheap, close, and never crowded.

Here is a pic for reference though.
Well that would make some sense... our track is in BFE but has some money in it and hooks pretty well.. seems to be level too. haha
My buds 01 ss camaro was a freak. he had headers, off roads,catback,lid,4.10's and slicks. went 12.15 in the 1/4mi. stock cam,heads,pulley,waterpump,th-body,intake and massair. Dynoed at 350hp. I was not that luckey.
i think there are more freak dynos than freak cars. It's not like the 60's when cam duration could be off by as much as 10 degrees or compression ratio could vary by half a point or more. Get both on the same car and you had a "freak". Machining on the new stuff is so precise, these cars don't vary a whole hell of a lot from one to the next. Talkings thousandths here. Not nearly enough to account for giant leaps in horsepower.
could only stand the 1st page of this thread & this was the only intelligent post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree. Take a few LS1 shortblocks and measure how far the pistons come out of the hole at TDC. You'll find as much as .02 between engines. When a few ten thousandths in key locations can make or break an engine, imagine what several hundredths can do!
Of course he is also neglecting the fact that on the same dyno, the same day under the same conditions 2 different yet completely identical stock cars can have outputs varying over 20rwhp.

All I can tell you is that we would have Dyno Day and I would see from 235 to 265 RWHP on STOCK LT1's, comparing M6 to M6 and A4 to A4 Not an auto to a standard. On LS1's we would see from 285 to 315 RWHP. again stock, comparable mileage...Thats just my findings/results so take it from there..Dyno variances? possibly, but that much of a difference? I dont think so. Also I have had a couple of the high horsepower cars at a different dyno, different town and they still made the same figures...
buddy has a 01 TA m6 that at the time had a lid and the muffler cut off, made 335rwhp. Prob one of the highest i've seen from a completely stock car pretty much
I had an 01 z that never saw a dyno, but ran 12.80s all day @109 w/ a LM2 catback. stock lid too. Auto car though
i think my wife bought a freak car. 99 m6 ws6. she bought the car at a stealership, it had 40k miles on it at the time. it was all stock except for some jank sportlines and a flowmaster weld in muffler. the previous owner removed the subs that go by the backseats and blew all but one speaker in the back, managed to fuck up the head unit, and someone gouged the sail panel (bad) when the hatch was open. this car was far from taken care of. it needed new tie rod ends @ 60k miles thanks to the awesome heated lowering springs and weak alignment job.
we put a lid and short-throw on it and she went 14.1 @ 111 on her 3rd pass in the car. eventually got it down to 13.4 @ 109 (1.96 60' but spun bad midway through 2nd..). it would run door to door with my 110 trap bolt on car on the highway and starting inching me at 120+. i managed to go 8.3 @ 87 with it 2 years and 40k miles after she bought it, but it developed a misfire on my best pass and ran the 1/4 out to 13.2 @ 104. i have since then tuned it up, added an ory and removed the air/egr, i am anxious to get it back to the track.
i'd call that a freak. bear in mind this was central indiana summer racing, da ~2500', literally full weight +her shit. we put like 500 miles on it last year haha. it is currently serving daily duties as the baby toter is down and i'm very lazy.
I guess my old dog is in the "freak category".. first did 377/376 on Chuck's old tune.. Then after NEVER being able to get the freakin po300(random multiple misfire) code to come off, I took the car back to HPE when Owen started doing tune's over there.. results were insane! The car was currently so lean across the board that that's what was throwing the po300. basically in the neighborhood of 14.5:1 a/f at 28 deg. timing at WOT if I remember correctly.. not to say chuck cant tune, cuz Iv seen some pretty wicked cars that hes tuned.. I dont know what was going on with mine.. anyways, owen tore down the whole tune and rebuilt the whole fuel curve and changed some timing tables, and basically kept the overall 28 deg. total timing and just added alot more fuel.. 375/397
Iv also got a dyno sheet from a mustang dyno at Turbochargers.com here in houston showing 381/404 with the acception of having 1.8 crane golds in at that time..
whats really crazy is that I used to have the original ls1 that came with the car and had all the same bolt ons with the older version trex cam and only made 396/377 with a much shittier power curve and this ls1 is out of my buddys vette that did 305hp stock with a paper air filter before he yanked it to have MTI build a 427 for him. Thankfully he yanked it right around the time my original motor blew and I got the longblock! This thing stock is leaps and bounds faster then my old one with the trex cam. My buddy Kenny in his fox has raced both setups and he can attest how much faster this one is. GM's got some beer drinkin/hottroddin automotive machinists in there getting a kick out of trying to hide uncertain parts into uncertain vehicles! lol
Mods list when dyno:
01' vette ls1 with UNPORTED "241 heads" Could possible have the ls6 cam tho, think the later vettes got them slipped in when noones looking. but not sure, Iv never taken it out of the motor to mic it.
Ls6 intake
slp lid/bellows
free ram air mod
pacesetter LT's
Pacesetter ORY
manaflow 3in. exhuast(no cats)
6speedinc. m6
ls7 clutch
Ls7 flywheel
stock 3.42's
and no a/c belt..
had crane gold 1.8 rockers,ls6 yellow springs, and comp stock length pushrods in it on the mustang dyno run. I figured Id lose alot of power on it.. boy was I wrong!

my car with 110,000 miles on it made 320 rwhp and 332 rwtq with only a lid and neutered catback. stock tune, stock ls1 intake, etc, etc. i think that's pretty healthy for a car with that many hard miles and so few mods. and it wasn't just a giving dyno that day either, i ran 12.8 @ 108 the night before on shitty kumho street radials cutting a 1.8x 60 ft. and the car hooks VERY well on the street. i dunno if that would be considered a freak, but it has put quite a few cars in their place that it shouldn't have (pulled on cam/bolt on cars off the line and held them off for 1/8 mile)
