if someone wants to bring the car to the shop, we will strap it down, make a pull, pull the intake, port, reinstall and make a couple of final pulls all for 200.00
i would drive to Memphis for that, Jeff. i need a vacation anyway.
"vacation, pick up a few hp, and see the LSX shootout all in one trip"

a group of us from Pittsburgh were in Memphis for the LSX Shootout over the weekend.
we went to Spectacle where i took Jeff up on his deal.
they strapped my 416 GTO to the dyno, did 2 pulls, then swapped a ported FAST 92 for my FAST 92.
then they did 2 more pulls on the dyno.
i think the ported peak hp/tq numbers were about 10 above the non-ported numbers. midrange the improvement was greater.
don't have the sheets handy, i am back at work............dammit..........lol.
Jeff has them, though. maybe he'll post them.
incidentally, while Jeff and Brian were in the middle of swapping the intake, who walks in but Ed, Shawn, and Chris from VA Speed.
so we have plenty of eyewitnesses for this one. it DOES work.
Jeff, Brian, Ed, Shawn, and Chris, it was nice meeting you guys.
Gregg

here are the results from Greggs port work.....The first graph is a comparison of the before first run and the after first run.
The second graph is a comparions of the before 2nd run and after 2nd run when the car was hot.

with the number of PMs I have gotten about doing port work, we are seriously considering starting to offer it. I would like to do at least one more in house on the dyno to confirm the numbers.
Once that happens, we may start offering it as an option on new 92mm intakes we sell, and may offer it if someone wants to ship us their intake.
I will keep everyone posted.

Looks like solid gains to me and the price is great! Even with a 10 hp gain the price is great.
the midrange gains were even better:

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! Is the first pull with the F.A.S.T. already on?
26 HORSEPOWER FROM A PORT?! Holy cow!
yeah, well if you look at our last test, we gained an avg of around 12rwhp.
we have done 3 port jobs since the one in the first post of this thread and they have all gained around 12 to 14 rwhp......so Im fairly certain the one where we gained 26 was a fluke.
It was never my intention to mislead anyone and thats why we perormed the tests we did. I wanted to duplicate that 26 hp but it just didnt happen.....

Have you done any porting with the new FAST lS3/L92?
no. we havent had any time to do so lately. I dont know when we will be able to either. theres still just two of us and business has absolutely exploded as of late.

thats awesome man, I kinda did some porting to mine while I was waiting to install it, I mostly just opened the ports and smoothed the transitions to the runners and all the casting flash inside (i followed a thread here where a member did his own pretty much to the T)
didn't really mess with the tb opening though
for the work involved your price is a steal, great deal for the customer
