I'm looking for the highest Hp from a 383 N/A Combo.
Please post up your Combo and Hp/Tq numbers.
This will help me decide which way to go next with my current setup.
Thanks
Numbers before going to LG big 3 exhaust in my sig. 92 octane, 243 stock head castings CNC'd, 3:90 gears, ported fast, LG pro long tubes no cats, yada yada. Not the best, but made the most of what I had available to me at the time.

Search Tony Momo his Solid Roller 383ci AFR225 Heads made over 540rwhp If I'm not mistaken.
That car was sick and ran 10s N/A Too.

thought of Mamo's car too as soon as I opened this thread, then I remembered it was a solid roller. IMO his car can't compare; I'll drive just about anything on the street but, a SR is a strech.
On a happier note, I believe there were a couple that made ~520/470. I'll need to check my bookmarks and see if I tagged any of them.

Tony Mamo is the guy! His engine builds are nothing short of perfection.
...and the numbers prove it. But, I agree they are in a league of their own and not the best for comparison.
That said, I had Tony port my AFR heads and I gained a lot of power 'under the curve'. My peak numbers went up some, but its the power everywhere else went up a lot. Which for me (and many others) can be more important than peak.

His car had 4.10 gears and I remember him saying the car drove fine on the street even with Solid Roller.
I have a video of that car sounded sick and when he launched

Engine was a:
383ci aluminum block
4" Stroke 3.905? bore
Diamond Flat top pistons, nitrous gapped total seal rings
G5x4 Cam
Wells Racing engines built the short block.
243's hand ported (numbers around 295-300 @ .600, with good mid numbers)
Stock, unported Fast 90/90
Pacesetter LT's going into offroad y-pipe, dumped under rear seat (still just 3.5" at y)
Stock air filter
It made:
503rwhp
459rwtq (uncorrected)
498rwhp
457rwtq (corrected)
A/F was around 12.5, so still a little rich. More power to still be found using a ported Fast, larger exhaust at the y-pipe, and leaning the tune a little more.
I believe I could make a few more with some TFS 215's and a slightly larger/different cam. 520whp is probably a good guess. Not really worth changing parts though.

Here's a combo I built with a HYD. roller that almost matched the numbers from my solid build. This guy dialy drives this car 20 miles each way to the hospital he works at in Northern CA.
Bad azzz high powered dependable package that once again focuses on selecting the right components and endless attention to detail.
Note the torque output....nothing has come close that I have seen in a 383 CID package....including my SR combo.
For those who have never seen this, a video of my former 383 in action fresh off the dyno right outside A&A Corvette....it was just a quick impromptu video that really worked out kind of well. In hindsight a "heater" would have been nice.....LOL (Note the traction non-existant with DR's in the lower two gears. Shiftlight came on at 7200....rev limiter @ 7400). You could drive this package every day as well....
Mine only went 490/445rw but it ran 10's@130 on DR's. There was alot on the table. I had Tony's exhaust, non ported 90 and some junk ported 243 heads. The cam was also a little big and lazy in every combo I have used it in. With todays parts and all the new stuff out there I would think 520rw 383's should be the norm.

How is that not possible? There are 355" engines out there making over 1000hp naturally aspirated. To say it is not possible you are really closing the doors and limiting yourself to conventional thinking.
my buds camaro 383 w/tfs215 heads,23x/24x cam, crap old slp 1 3/4 headers, non ported fast intake,12bolt,m6 w/4.11's made 500hp 460tq. when he swaps to kook headers and ports the fast he may be 520hp.
