The only other way to improve the "efficiency" from the crank to the wheels other than going to a manual of coarse is to go to an automatic transmission that has a lock up style converter. 4L60E's or 4L80E's do it, and actually show just a little more drive train loss with the converter locked up than manuals. But, if youre goal in the car is to drag race the TH340/TH400 set up with a transbrake is both a simple and proven set up. If you're not runnning a computer right now, then you'd need a trans controler. To spend the money on doing all that just for a rwhp number seems like a waste to me. I'd put the money into trying different carbs or things along those lines instead of trying to increase the rwhp by changing transmissions. You already have a baseline number on a dyno, so any gain or loss would be easily shown, as long as you go back to the same dyno. Since there is no real standard for rwhp measurement, that's why you have such large variences in measurements between dynos, Inertia dyno's vs. Loaded dyno's for instance. And since the entire drive train effects the rwhp measurement, there probably never will be. You could always just pull the motor and get a few pulls on an engine dyno.

true that, a Holley is next on my list, plus working on the suspension. I need to get some track numbers too, maybe that will bring a smile back to my face Its just u get so use to seeing H/C numbers in the 415-450 range with LS1's and I kinda set myself up to expect those range of numbers, guess a 200 shot will fix all that----or blow it up

so researching other people dyno numbers with a TH350 it looks like im spot on with room to grow, seems people with less HP then me are running 10.7's. Hell there is a guy with a 383 making only 380's but running great track times with traction issues. Best let the track be my dyno queen

Exactly, people can get to hung up on chasis dyno numbers, when there's so much more that makes a car run fast. Weight, gearing, traction are huge influences on ET that might adversely affect ET.
