Default SDPC LS3 427 with L92 heads dyno

SDPC LS3 427 -4.070" bore -4.100" stroke
SDPC CNC LS3 heads
235/243 .621/.624 113+1
FAST 102mm intake
NW 102mm TB

The customer not only wanted bigger cubes and great power, but he wanted to drive the car every day and also for the engine to show up ready to drop in. We completed the longblock with a FAST 102 intake, Nick Williams TB, valve covers, coils, injectors, and everything necessary to simply drop the engine in and run. Here are pics of what he received (his pictures) and the dyno sheet.

Customer had the engine installed local to him and it was tuned by Vengeance Racing. (Thanks Ron!)

Over 500rwhp through an A4 with 3200 converter

508rwhp, 480rwtq

We do not. We have done countless shortblocks on our "El Toro" program with our LS2 413 and LS3 427, and many other vendors do them regularly as well. Properly built there should not be any problems at all, we have great luck with them. They were somewhat problematic years back when the pistons for them were new, but for several years now the piston designs have been revised to an extent that there is no problem running a 4.100" stroke.

Glad to see the technology has advanced. I believe a lot of that was on my shoulders back in the day(05-06) after both JE and Wiseco failed to make a piston that wouldnt drink oil after 200 miles. Of course I was running an iron block so the short cylinders only made the problem worse.

Not bad power, I bet with a decent stall speed that thing is going to be a ton of fun on the street.

I have a 416 short blocks that you guys built #2765 it is still new, and I would like to know if this motor might be the "problematic" ones with the outdated pistons? They have a -2 cc valve relief.

I have concidered maybe sending it to you guys just to dbl check everything and making sure it's ok according to your specs. How much would something like this cost?
The 416 is a 4.00" stroke setup, so it is totally fine regardless of age no worries whatsoever

Nice #'s. I've had an El Toro block in my car for three years with no problems.

We can use any variety of internals to meet a customer's needs and budget. For cranks we stock Scat, Callies, and Manley. For rods we stock scat and Callies both in h-beam and i-beam. We use Manley pistons standard, but also use JE, Diamond, Wiseco, and Mahle when called for. The El Toro line uses Callies Compstar crank and rods standard, and we have a budget line that uses Scat crank and rods. Both use the Manley pistons standard, but we have been using the Mahle more often and have had great luck with those as well. This setup is using the Mahle 4.070 powerpack.
