Default LQ4 CNC L92's TSP Cam Dyno Results

Well, I finally got mine dyno tuned yesterday and I'm very happy with the numbers. It's a LQ4 with CNC/milled L92's, a 229/236 .624 .615 111LSA cam, TSP True Duals, Pacesetter headers and stock LS3 intake. I was hoping for about 450-460 and baseline pull made 441 HP 408 ft-lbs. The final numbers were 464.8 HP 427.14 ft-lbs. I got it tuned at Sutton Race Engineering in Wichita and have nothing but great things to say about them. It drives so much better, feels a lot stronger and pulls a lot more evenly. I don't have a copy of the file so I just took a picture of the printout, sorry for the quality but you should be able to see it and I took a short video of one of the pulls, not the final one.

Edit: Thanks also to Frost. The mail order tune worked out really well and was very driveable. The guys were impressed with how good it ran on a mail order.

Thats a solid number for the compression the motor has. Will this car see any track time at all? I would be curious to see how well it does. Congrats on the numbers!

Outstanding. Anything done to the bottom end of the LQ4?

I'm not positive on how much they were milled but was told it should be about stock at 10.7:1. I am planning to go to the track but it'll probably be closer to summer because I'm saving up now for a rear end and some tires. My tires on it now are pretty much useless lol Bottom end is stock internals with new rings, bearings and ARP rod bolts.

Edit: based on the graph I was gonna see what you guys would recommend shifting at. I was thinking about 6400

Very nice numbers. Congratulations. Is that and M6 or an A4 transmission? If an A4 what torque converter are you running?

It's a M6 and thanks, I'm definitely happy with the numbers, any advice on a shifting point?

"any advice on a shifting point?"

IMHO they did not take the motor up high enough to see when it starts to fall off. That way you can get the most power under the horsepower curve. So from the graph 6500 would be good.

Agreed. The dyno looks like she is still gaining till the end. I would set the rev limiter at 6500.

How much did they charge you for the tune if you don't mind me asking. I've been hearing good things about them. Nice numbers from that combo BTW.

PMed, not sure on discussing non sponsor specials and stuff.

Yea, I kinda wanted to ask them to bump up the limiter and pull higher but I never did. TSP has an engine dyno graph with the same cam and looks like it peaks at about 6400. I know it won't be the same but I think you guys are right. I think 6500 would be a good shifting point. Thanks, I can't wait to actually take it to the track. I might with the 10 bolt and just leave easy and shift easy and see what MPH I can get out of it.

Sorry, I honestly don't know the PTV either. A local guy built the motor and I just installed it. It's an off the shelf TSP cam. Another friend locally is running the same setup from the same guy and neither of us have had any piston clearance issues. Maybe someone with a similar setup can chime in. I'm gonna take it back after I get a MWC 9" to see how much I lose. Then eventually add a FAST 102 and a better fuel pump. Mine was about to max out and injectors were at 70%

Not to hijack your thread, but I would almost be willing to guess this thread would help explain a few of your questions. I am the guy that was talking to you on aim. 10:7:1 sounded like alot of milling so I dug up some info on the cam and believe this is probably more like your build ! (they are using *from what I can tell* the same cam as you with 10:1~ compression)

We pulled the combo up to 6700, 2-3 times, and it was peaking about 6300. Thats why we didn't continue to pull it that high everytime. If you get it on the track and pull it higher than 6500 and it keeps gaining mph, then continue to climb and see where the sweet spot is. Very nice running car!

Also, we are now a site sponsor! If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask away!
