Hey I am about to put a 99 LS1 corvette motor in my 69 Nova and I just want to add a cam only. I was just trying to get some ideas for the best bang for the buck. I am looking for a mild cam that will make some power and also not make the car idle really bad seeming how the only thing I will have in the motor is the cam. I am also looking for some good ideas on what converter I should go with for the cam set up. Any Ideas I would love to hear them. I know out of the box the 99 LS1 corvette motor made 345 hp I would be happy if I could get 350 plus to the actually wheels with a good cam with out going all out with thw ls6 intake and what not. The only other real pland I have for the motor is a good set of headers and to port and polish my factory throttle body.

Just did a cam swap, tsp magic stick 4 in an 02 ss automatic, slp lt's with loud mouth cat back, granatelli mass air, stock heads and intake 3:73's 392rwhp/364lbft tq
Don't know dyno numbers but track times on a 75 deg. day with 82 humidity = a 12.30 ET. This is with slicks, MS3 cam, long tubes, 3.73's, 4000 Cirlce D. Cam idles very rough but with my high stall is very drivable with ac blowing cold. It is my daily driver. In town gas mileage is about 12. Had a friend tune it with HP tuners.
