Hey man

Nice numbers. That is a great cam. I ran it with a set of stage 2 heads and was very happy with it.

What does your timing curve look like?

My main question is, why the dip in the middle?

From my experience they say the spike is from the stall converter dipping because of non lock up. Not sure if I'm right, but anyone can chime in and let me know.

Good power for the mods you have. Did that guy get all your idle issues worked out? Did you use the tune I sent you?

The dip could be caused by a little knock. Why did they start the run at 5k?

With LS1 Edit, HP Tuners and EFI you can change your tranny settings so it won't upshift to 2nd on the dyno.

I forced the the tranny into 3rd and the converter locked with EFIlive. The run was started high because of my converter. We tried lower and it would just flash up quickly, even with me locking the converter.

Bill, I used a different tune than the one you sent. Brent at EPP made some changes for me so I went with his file but I used some of your tranny settings.

I guess I'll have to go out and do some more logging to check for KR. I believe my timing is set to 28 in edit.

Edit: Looks like I also need to bump up my shifts too, shifting at 6300 is right at my peak power. I guess I'll have to raise that back up to 6500 or so.

very stout numbers w/ those mac mids. Was this w/ stock LS1 intake or LS6? What was ur A/F like? Im having a little trouble reading the graph cuz either my eyes suck or its a little hazy but i too wonder if that SLP MAF is robbing you a little. Dont they tend to screw around with ur A/F ratio? BTW, hows that cam, yank, and 3.42 gear combo drive on the street?

LS6 intake, all '02 cars came with them stock.

I just got the gears and converter put in a few weeks ago so I'm still getting used to it. All I can say is street tires are useless!

I got a stock maf that I'm gonna try as well to see, I've heard bad things about the SLP ones before.

The A/F starts out just above 13 and ends just below 13.

James,

You would pick up some more torque if you added a tad more fuel down low, I always try to get the A/F around 12.7 - 12.9 across the board...

I though 12.5 was the usual target but lately i've been hearing 13-13.1 is the number to shoot for.

I tune a tad on the conservitive side plus you are about.2 leaner on the street vs the dyno.

I checked it myself with my car and my wideband on and off the dyno.

That dip is from the converter. Alot of the Vig's had the same dip and I've seen it everyonce in a while from a Yank.

Wouldn't locking the converter prevent this though?

Mine had this same dip in it when it was initially dyno'd but my converter was unlocked. I wouldn't think it would show up when locked though. Jeff Creech fiddled around with my tune and filled in the hole in my power curve. If you call him I'm sure he'll tell you what he did to fix mine. Competent tuners can be quite secretive about what they do but Jeff if one helluva nice guy. Call him. Can't hurt.

yes i know all '01 and '02 LS1 fbods came w/ the ls6 intake but i didnt see the model year of ur car in ur post or ur sig unless im blind. A/F looks good hovering around 13 throughout the run although some would rather see it a lil richer just to be on the safe side and yea i remember having to get used to the gears/verter thing to but its well worth it and once ur used to it its a blast!!! IMHO, id ditch that SLP MAF for the stocker unless you find a tuner that can work w/ the SLP unit cuz some can and some cant.

Yeah, when I go back for some tuning I'm gonna toss the stock MAF back on. I've heard of MANY people complaining about the SLP one when it comes to tuning.

Hopefully we can fill in that dip by tweaking the tune though.
