Budget LQ9 dyno results....
After having no luck with my LS1 and having it spin rod bearings twice i decided to go the 6.0 route.Perfect for the budget racer like myself.lol
Here is the specs.
1)05 LQ9 6.0
2)Futral FM14 232"/234" .598"/.598" 112LSA
3)Patriot Performance Dual gold Valve Springs
4)stock 317 heads hand ported,220cc intake runners,68cc chambers,313cfm intake,milled 0.030,10.8:1 compression,stock valves
5)ARP head bolts,ARP rod bolts
6)Vig3200/3:42s
7)Full bolt-ons
The heads were handported by a friend of mine.He goes by Studytime on this site. Thanks Ben T.
Had it Dyno tuned by Allan Futral.
414rwhp unlocked(dont have unlocked tq number)
438rwhp/411rwtq locked(to compare to you six speed guys)
Heres a scan.Only have the locked run.He said he was having issues with it so it only shows hp and no rpm. better than nothin.
I dont think its to bad for someone on a tight budget. What do ya'll think she'll run? Im on 275/40 17 nitto drags. race weight is about 3830lbs.Thanks

I have a t rex and edelbrock terminator heads, fast 90/90 installed on top of a lq9 i built myself. I love it and can t wait to get it dynoed. My ls1 made 414hp 398tq and the lq9 seems so much stronger. I can give it about 40% throttle and it is breaking the tires loose. Couldnt say the same for the ls1.

Very nice results through an A4 on a budget build! Stock tinkered-with heads, as well. That car must pull like a mother, especially off the line.
And I don't know if you've run it yet at the track, but I wouldn't doubt it's now time for some Mickey Thompsons or something a bit stickier than those Nittos (same as mine) so you can launch like it should be!

I havent made a trip to the track yet.The nittos I have now are at the end of thier life.Im not sure if i should go Mickey this time around or run nittos again.Never had any traction issues with nittos.of course that was with my old LS1.

Unless you are the previous owner of my car, hahaha.
Well, the Nittos have a nice long life when driven regularly, whereas the Mickey Thompsons will wear out quickly (especially if raced a lot), but the difference from a dig at the track is night and day from what I've seen and heard. I plan on running Nittos on my normal wheels for regular driving and cruising, and then bringing a set of MTs on separate wheels to the track so I can see some decent times. I have no traction even on a prepped track right now, and I'm making less power than you. Then again, my gears are really steep.

As another option for heads, you can use LS6 (#243) heads to increase the compression ratio without milling. 317s and 243s are the same design with the exception of bowl sizes; 317 = 72cc and 243 = 66cc. The 66cc will net you around 11.1:1. WCCH does have work LS6 heads that had a 68cc bowl that can give you 10.8:1.
What do you have your shift points set to with that cam?
