Default 611rwhp 534ftlb - all motor LS7

CamZilla is back... in a big way.

The essential numbers are 611rwhp, 534ftlb...

Those are the "Intardwebs" bragging numbers - the street trim, mufflered, daily driver numbers are SAE 596rwhp, 521ftlb.

Not bad for a normally aspirated hydraulic cam 427

Road Race setup:

Street daily driver setup:

This motor is pretty much stock...

other than the 380+cfm ported LS7 heads, ported LS7 intake, ported 100mm throttle body, 103mm MAF, Halltech, Kooks, .7xx lift cam, forged internals, Fidenza 11lb flywheel it is pretty much stock.

I have to wonder how some people are able to put down 600rwhp either with mild cams or stock heads

I guess it is magic

How'd you get a 100mm tb on a LS7 intake? Is it the carb setup with an elbow? Nice numbers by the way!

Thanks, and I forgot to add the car is as docile as a pussycat, pulls 5th gear from 600rpm without bucking or surging and is a pure pleasure to cruise to "spit n polish' Corvette shows... hehe

Yeah right... unlike some folks claim, this car is a nasty unmanageble cranky neck snapping instant throttle on chaotic rollercoaster to drive...

Just the way I wanted it

I LOVE how flat the power curve is upstairs....

Its "peak" power for 500+ RPM's. The big intake runner and reasonably short manifold runner (compared to say a FAST or stock cathedral intake) help make that a reality, plus I have to imagine a pretty healthy stick with a late intake closing point.

What are the specs on the cam and how much static CR does it have....

Nice job....looks like it must pull like a bear upstairs and never give up!

What the diff in the set-up/tunes btw (race gas and more timing perhaps in road race trim?)

Congrats...

Tony M.

He's calling out 11.3 static.

Ugh, ridiculous numbers. Has anyone tested the limits of the LS7 stock bottom end yet? I would have thought they would come with forged internals out of the factory considering the power and price tag, but your comment implies otherwise. Is this not the case?

Should be able to compete with a ZR1 with that kind of power!

After the sarcasm (which I enjoyed), he states that it is completely built and forged bottom end. The stock bottom end is a forged crank and titanium rods with hyperuetetic pistons if I am not mistaken.

The LS7 intake throat was machined to match the throttle body. Yeah I like the numbers and especially the shape of the curve.

Yes - I love the way this car pulls and pulls and pulls... as long as yo uare willing to keep your foot in it it keeps pulling.. never lets up - except when you sadly have to let off to select the next gear, then starts all over again... Intoxicating is the word I like to use. You want more

I seem to recall the cam is .700+ lift, about 300* duration, about 70* overlap (seat to seat timing) 114 LSA.

Compression is about 11.3 to 1 - It is 11.38:1 as calculated by Dynomation Engine Sim software.

The main differences between the setups are the mufflers vs open pipes and I do believe some timing. I do believe we dont need race gas but I do use it (104 Sunoco) at the roadcourse as insurance, especially in the Texas heat.

Stock probably, but just a little tweakign and I am sure the ZR1 woudl put down enough torque to make me wimper home looking for nitrous hehe.

Yeah - hehe, the only stock bits that are LS7 are the block, head casting and intake shell...

Well, it was 565 the day it was built.. then picked up almost 15hp after break in. After the C5R timing set was installed, we replaced the 90mm LS2/7 throttle body with a billet 100mm unit, and the LS6 90mm MAF housing/MAF probe with Jim Halls 103mm MAF housing/Hitachi MAF probe, and replaced the Donaldson Blackwing and smooth airbridge with Jim Halls Killer Bee intake and airbridge.

These changes required completely retuning to take advantage of the new higher resolution MAF probe and new bigger TB.

No drag strip times yet - its more of a road race setup, so I would hate to blow the rear end on a sticky drag launch.

In a word the car is "nuts".

All in all the guys at MTI here in Houston built me an awesome motor... it has been exactly what I wanted and what they promised each step of the way.

I might get round to trying Kooks stepped headers, solid lifters and a new even wilder cam this summer. I heard the NASCAR boys run .800 lift bump sticks - is that true? hehe

My ideal motor would be a 700rwhp/600rwtq NA 427 monster hehe

This is simply impossible. LS7 heads can't make power

traver I have a 100lpe if your looking i decided to go with a speed density tune seems to be doing nicely so far.

But I too would love to hear more bout this 100 TB to match my own stock LS7 blocked 427 beast

by the way Traver did you read that correctly??? "stock" LS7 block hahahaha guess we'll both be needing new blocks soon cause at these levels we couldnt be doing it without cracking the sleeves hahahaha j/k you know we'll never stop this battle lol
