1/4 mile 2003/2004 Cobra vs 2010 Camaro SS
#6
With equal drivers and perfect conditions. The Cobra would win. Races have a lot of variables so I have to say the Camaro could beat the Cobra if the conditions were right.

The Terminator would take the new SS Camaro without breaking a sweat.

The V6 Camaro is no slouch either, with its 3.6 liter powerplant, it manages 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds and a Quarter Mile time of 14.5 @ 97mph with the automatic, and 14.7 @ 97mph with the manual.

Both Car and Driver and Motor Trend tested the Cobra back in 2003, and the new Camaro just recently. Both showed the Camaro and Cobra running identical ETs and trap speeds. There have been a few Camaros hitting the tracks, and most are running very low 13s in the 108-110 range, which is right where most stock Cobras run. Mark my words, this fall when the temps drop new Camaros will be hitting 12.7-12.8 bone stock in the Mid-Atlantic area.
It's a drivers race.

370 RWHP (Typically 360-380 RWHP; mine made 378 RWHP 100% stock)
3,650lbs.
2010 SS Camaro
370 RWHP (I'm being generous here too; no way they'll put down that much)
3,857lbs.
The Camaro weighs over 200lbs. more than the Cobra and won't make as much RWHP. How is this a drivers race?

How does gear ratio compare though? I'm sure that has a good role in the outcome of the race, even if the Camaro is heavier. I'd still put my money on the Camaro
