97 corvette vs 04 M3 smg what am I against?

so a friend of my cousin got a 04 M3 smg about a year ago and has been beating some quick cars, he claims to have only bolt one and not many.

i just picked up a 97 c5 6 speed only mods are vararam and corsa catback the quiet one.

do I have any chance against him? my cousin was saying he does something like hard shift mode? on that smg and it kicks hard.

I want to run him this weekend at night 50-120

his buddy has a 06 STI with a few mods and he want to run as well he has a 5-6 speed.

what do u guys think?

I think both cars will be close mine has over 100K on it.

You'll own him good. You have solid mid range torque. If you were in a camaro I'd be worried. What is his "1" mod? My prediction is 3-4+ cars.

I am under the impression that the only thing that is different is that the transmission is a super fast shifting auto transmission. In that case I think the op will have no problems pulling the bmw.

E46 M3s can trap in the 106-108mph range stock, so he'll be up your ass for sure. But I still think you'll pull him up top.

Could you elaborate on that one for me? I'm curious to know how 104 Octane on a stock tune, stock car will help.

GM's tunes must be COMPLETELY different than Fords.
