I've personally taken down a bolt on LS1 beat-up 157k-mile automatic driven by my grandma from a roll in a Mach 1 with nothing but a shifter, midpipe, and catback at the time. From a dig it would have been much uglier IMO.
coolio.. my car is close to stock. just need a mach1
don't be so dilusional...just for one example...dude over on svtperformance trapped 107 in his mach with only midpipe/catback (same as what stopsign mentioned)...you don't think 107 is enough to take out your average ls1 from a roll? whatever you think
My friend is trying to set me up to race a mach1 a friend of his has. As far as i know all he has is a CAI and its a manual. The kid is still in school and mommy and daddy bought it for him. And highly doubt he's a good driver. Just wanted to get some opinions on what the outcome should be.
That's me racing a new guy on our local forum last week. He has catback exhaust and a cold air intake. In the far lane is a terminator making 445rwhp....pause the vid at 16 seconds....

and you think 107 is an average trap for a mach like that? get real.

The Mach 1 I'm talking about ran 105.8mph with nothing but a catback. That was with me driving, never driven a Mach 1 on the track, and I was only able to get that one run in. Had I gotten a few more runs to get to know the car better I would have done quite a bit better I'm sure. I'm not the best driver in the world but I have figured out which pedal does what.
Oh and that run I did a 13.2. Nothing amazing and people have done better but that is right there with your average LS1 time... Just saying.

a 13.2 is very quick for a mach. it happens, but rarely. alot run more in the 13.5-13.6 range around 104-ish. why do you think when you look at videos of races between the two 9 times out of ten the ls1 wins--- because it's faster! sure the mach CAN win but chances are it wont. but it's close enough that if the ls1 driver fucks up he wont run it down by the end of the quarter.

I think its because more Ford owners have no idea how to drive and possibly the Mach 1 is harder to drive to its full potential? I know my 99 Cobra when it was stock was a bitch to get good times out of.

I don't drink beer. Liquor only for me. I didn't think your car was stock though so how would this be fair? (edit I see you said close to stock)
