I know that in most cars made after the mid nineties when the climate control is in any position other than off, the ac compressor clutch is engaged and the system is working. In my car I can really feel the ac engage and feel its impact when launching normally from a stop. I want to disconnect the ac and can live without dried air to defrost with through the winter so I have pulled the ac compressor relay underhood and wonder if I'll have any bad side effects. I know that the second cooling fan will come on when the climate control is on and the I.A.C. motor idles up for a sec before returning to normal idle speed.

This just started last night. Whenever i turn off my headlights and they close, the passenger side motor will grind for 4 or 5 seconds after closing. It is very loud and sounds horrible. Also, whenever i use my key fob to lock or unlock the car, the headlights flip up then go right back down...once again with the passenger side grinding after closing. Does anyone have any insight into how i can correct this or do i just need a new motor? Just seems like its more than the motor though since they are popping up and down when the car is locked or unlocked. Any insight would be very much appreciated.

Ok so, I thought I told the moron at Autozone I wanted the Iridium NGK TR55 and my ass didn't really bother double checking before I installed them...

My question is, how much of an improvement will I see if I go to the iridiums or the platinums.

Currently installed are the VPOWER and since it was the first time I used NGK I was clueless as to what that meant, apparently it means CHEAP ASS plug...

Would I be seeing any improvement in gas mileage and engine stability if I were to go with the Iridium vs the VPOWER??

Im thinking of the TR55IX vs the TR55...

Any one tried both??

ok, i have a 2000 trans am, manual, 120k...

driving to work today i noticed my windows went up slower than normal, and it has done this a couple times this week. i come out from work, car starts after a split second's hesitation. Im driving 2 or three miles down the road, and all my dash lights come on: abs inop, service engine/vehicle, trac off, etc, then m gauges flickered up and down then i lost power; no gauges, no stereo: car sputters and dies. After push start and no power again, sputters and dies again after trying to drive it. The coolant seems to be spraying up from somewhere; obviously a leak, towards the front drivers side engine, i noticed smoke from the driver side. now my brake lights and front driving/signal lights flash every 3-4 seconds... the car is possessed? sounds electrical... what directions should i be going towards? thanks!!

mods: bolt ons: headers, ram air, dyno tuned, ummm yea...

Hey guys, I have a pretty strange problem that just started today on my way to work. When I turn on the headlights on my Trans Am, the cover of the drivers side headlight actually overlaps the hood by about a half inch and will not allow the headlight to pop to its upright position, it gets stuck at around half-way.
My question is does this sound like an adjustment problem? (I've had no issues with it since I bought it in February) Or does it sound like something in the headlight assembly has broke/worn out? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,

I know I might catch some shit for this, but I bought a 97 explorer for a winter dd. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and everything ran fine, except the temp gauge didn't function right(had plenty of antifreeze in it though). I noticed the oil gauge would fluctuate sometimes, but it was very rare. Well I was on my way home from school yesterday and while i was on the highway I noticed the oil gauge bouncing a lot, and it kept ketting lower. I got off the highway immediately and turned the car off. Checked the oil level and it was fine. I started the car again and it said i had little to no oil pressure, but there was no knocking, ticking, smoking, or metal to metal noise. I've even drove it home and it ran fine. I started it up today and it still shows i have little to no oil pressure, but it runs fine(very quiet tick on a cold start). Do you all think it's something mechanical or could it be the oil pressure switch/bad intrument panel?
