I was having a hard time getting ahold of them, FYI if you need to call byunspeed and you don't get an answer, just leave a message, they promptly call back. I wasn't out to hurt their reputation by posting that thread, so far thier service has been great, very prompt shipment and great prices. I was just frustrated that I couldn't get an answer to my phone calls, they explained that they have been very busy and I guess there isn't very many people who take phone calls. Once again Byunspeed I apologize!

I also understand that the increased power in the lq9 is achieved though increased compression ratio (meaning that the lq4 would be better for a forced induction application).

Now, aside from that what are the differences? Do they come with the same heads? Do they come with the same cams? What are the exact power differences between the three. Would any of the three be a direct bolt in to a stock f-body?

if the LT1 stays in the formula, the LQ4 is going in my '02 silverado, and the 5.3 from it is going in my '94 silverado.
if not, the LT1 is going in the '94, and the '02 is staying the way it is while the formula gets a truck 6.0

Well, i guess i wasnt joking about going stalled a4 route...
Saw an ad in craigslist selling for 5500 with 145K miles... I went ahead and offered him 4 grand cash in person and after couple of minutes of thinking he took the offer... The mileage was throwing me off at 1st, but when i got into the car, my opinion suddenly had changed... I mean, this bird was obviously meticulously cared for, does have some expected blemishes... Started better than my 06 ford taurus...

When i shifted that a4 into "D" what i expected was disappointment...

Turns out, this bone stock ls1 runner had some punch in it. Even though im coming from a full bolt on 6 spd trans am, this car really compared to it performance wise... Yes it does. I mean, when i switch off "TCS" button and floor it from a stand still, it goes sideways through 1st gear. Tranny is as smooth as in a new car... Actually, with traction off, i floor it at 30 mph and can hear tires chirping, and car actually puts me in the seat

And here is was thinking A4's were slow...

Here is the turd bird, my new beater/dd:

The only problem is, i dont know what factory gears it has... Runs a tad under 2000rpm at 65mph. My guess 3.23's?

Hey guys I'm new to the f body scene but have been building and racing cars my whole life. I have always wanted an f body so now is the time to start. I had a 10 second 4 banger dsm that I built and tuned my self. I have some questions for all the experts. I will be building the car right away and won't be messing with any stock components. Planning on built lsx motor, th400 or powerglide, 9" rear, engine management, roll cage, custom turbo kit, etc. The car will be street driven still. So here's my questions:

1. Are the six cylinder chassis's the same as the 8 cylinders? My thoughts here are getting the car cheaper since I will be upgrading everything anyway
2. What year chassis would be be the best to get? I like 98 up the best.
3. How do you guys pass emissions on obd2? Lol my old car was obd1 and I could tune it to pass.
4. I am open to any suggestions

Thanks Matt

Its hard for me. What should I do?
