As much as I love the bark of the Pypes Violator axle-backs on my car, they were just a bit much for my daily driver. The drone on the highway at 70 was just a bit too obnoxious. If intimidating someone was your goal, these are your mufflers. I do love the tips so I kept these.

I have a Dynomax Ultra-Flo muffler on my Firebird and really like. Somewhat tame at idle and it really wakes up when you nail it. My Bird also has zero drone (Big cam, Hookers LTs, no cats, Mufflex Y-Pipe, and Dynomax Muff).

I decided to reuse the Pypes axle-back connectors and tips and replace just the mufflers with some nice stainless units. All I can say is that I've very happy with these on the car. These sound extremely clean and def provide a nice bark over that of stock mufflers on a LT system which I personally thought was just too quiet. There is still some hum at the usual 1700rpm, part throttle range but it is entirely tolerable. The car sounds like it has an exhaust on it which is the point. I'm pretty picky so take my word for it. With AFM, the sound only gets deeper but never intrusive. Again, these just work really well. For the performance guys, these mufflers also flow twice as well as the Pypes system.

Anyway, here is the video I took really quickly. The car got a little sideways on the 1-2 shift LOL but you get the idea. I also included some brief in-car video. The camera actually made the exhaust sound a bit noiser for some reason. I added a video of the Pypes system as well so you can hear the difference.
