Here is a result I've found many time throughout the years. The biggest question is why get a tune with minimul bolt-ons? Well, sometimes tuning will give more power gains that alot of the bolt-ons you buy and for a cheaper cost.

Car in question - 125k miles,M6, 98 Z28. Has a flowmaster muffler,air lid and a Jet chip.Car ran fine.

Drove the car to get up to temp. All runs where at 190-192 engine temp at start of the runs. They were all logged for KR and A/F.

As it came in.Did 3 runs with cooldown inbetween. All runs were very close to each other with the highest at 300hp/276tq. No KR and A/F stayed around 12.7-1. I was thinking the Jet chip was doing pretty good.

Took out the chip and street tuned the car. After about 20 minutes on the street we hit the dyno again.Took 2 runs to get the WOT A/F and timing in check.

Cooled car to the proper temp and did 3 runs that way. Car made consistant power within 1% of each other.Final #'s were 316hp/300tq. This was with 4 degree's less timing than before and a slightly richer A/F around 12.5-1.

Made a great gain across the whole curve. Here's the graph.

Just figured I'd share this.It surprised me on the gain.

I just had my car dynoed on a dynojet that generally sees stock LS1 autos put down 290-295 with stock converter.

Earlier 346 numbers I felt were low...
3200 converter
cam 230/234 .595/.598 114
Bolt-ons etc.-

343 rwhp
330 rwtq at 4800 to negate converter flash

343 rwhp
330 rwtq at 4800 to negate converter flash

Only changes...
384CI
heads - 317 castings 315/220 flow

357 rwhp
352 rwtq at 4800 to negate converter flash

Horsepower gains were about expected as all that changed to affect them is the heads. Torque is consistently 25 higher, and even hits 33 higher for a brief time. The gains were both expected, but the overall numbers with both setups worry me. I just see so much bigger numbers with other similar setups in terms of rwhp.

Very impressive results from just adding headers. For those who have a hard time reading the results, here's how it went:

Baseline with Vararam CAI, muffler delete, stock tune: 320rwhp/341rwtq See the bottom curve in the graph comparison for baseline numbers.

Added ARH 1 7/8" long tube headers, stock tune: 354rwhp/363rwtq (a gain of 34/22 from headers alone). The bottom curve is the graph with headers and no tune. The top graph is after the tune.

Added EFI Live dyno tune: 370rwhp/383rwtq (a gain from tune of 16/20 from the tune)

Total gain for headers and dyno tune: 50rwhp/42rwtq
Hats off to American Racing Headers for making an outstanding product. The 1 7/8" headers lose nothing to 1 3/4" headers down low, but gain at higher rpm. On a hotter 6.2L G8 GXP, the gains would be even larger.
The only thread that was close lasted less than six posts and dealt more with English grammar than the title suggested.

Is there anyone who knows and has experience how to lock-up the TCC on an A4 car with the 4L60/65. So that the dyno run can be done from say 2,500 up with it locked-up in 3rd gear and the 3>2 T.P. kick-down and 3>2 down-shift speed parameters inhibited?

I use EFI-Live so would be interested if any EFI-L users can confirm what I have attempted to understand, as I'm an M6 user just trying to be helpful for others.

So, I have been driving around on a BUSTED tranny for about 6 months now, and took the car down to SNL to have a Tick level 2 tranny put in, along with a new clutch. Everyone was impressed with the amount of damaged done to the transmission. While it was there, Steve talked me into a new cam.

The baseline dyno run was 395/415, with just bolt-ons. Mods included a Vararam, P&P TB (by WRP), ported FAST 92, Kooks 1 3/4" headers, catless mids, 3" cat-back with X-pipe and 40 series Flowmasters in the '04 location, Tick level 2 T56 w/ cryo and REM polishing, lightweight flywheel, Monster level 6 clutch, and a Geforce CF driveshaft. It was tuned by Matt @ SNL.

The cam was swapped out, along with a TCI UDP, and new rails and 42# injectors, springs, pushrods, and valve seals. The first pull on the dyno exceeded what I was hoping for - 448HP! Matt made a few more pulls, and picked up power every time. He was cussing my Vararam because the MAF values were all over the place. The last run resulted in 467hp @ 6800rpm, and 446ft-lbs of torque @ 4800rpm. The car made over 400ft-lbs from 3000-6000, and over 350ft-lbs from start to finish. Due to tuning issues with the Vararam, the car is still running a little rich. I think we are going to swap it out for one of SNL's 4" CAI's. Steve is pretty sure this will smooth it out and pick up a few more HP.

So, unless someone can prove otherwise, I believe that is a record for a cam-only LS2 car. Stock bottom end and untouched stock 243 heads. This thing is a freak, and runs like a raped ape! I will post up before and after dyno charts as soon as I have a digital copy of them (unless Steve wants to add to this.)

Again, I have nothing but good to say about the guys at SNL (all except for Loyd - he wouldn't give me his new Harrops 2300 blower :)). They continue to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I would recommend them to anyone who is physically able to drive to DFW. The new level 6 clutch has absolutely no chatter. Steve said don't worry about breaking it in, just get on the highway and beat the piss out of it. I'm not going to lie to you... I beat on it a few times - It's a long drive home. I pulled off the dyno at midnight, and got home at 4:45am.

Before anyone asks, you will have to get with Steve @ SNL for the cam specs - after he installs one in your car :)

so i got my rear end install finished an decided to throw the car on the local dyno. well before on the 10 bolt it did 415rwhp and 385rwtq but the was in san antonio texas. so on the ford 9" with 4.33 gears a different exhaust, TB, CAI, and New tune (email tune from pcmforless) it layed down 426rwhp @6450-6500 and 393rwtq@4000-4500. This is a stock 97 6-speed 145k mile LT1 bottom end with full bolt ons and the LE2 kit made in 2006.

when it made 415 it was on 3" true duals, 58mm TB, Slp CAI with a Trickflow elbow, Stock 10 bolt with 3.42s, and a "ok" tune.

today it made the 426 with the only things being changed was the duals cut off running dynomax bullets on the end of the collectors, AS&M Monoblade TB, LS1 Lid conversion, ford 9" with 4.33 gears and mini spool, and an email tune from pcmforless.

now lets just say im pretty freaking happy it layed down what it did as i was expecting it to be in the 390ish area after the new 9". Not to bad for the ol LT1 car. also just recently ran the car at the track and it did 11.85@119 with a 1.76 60foot

so what you guys think?
