We are voting daily to keep him up on the poll, but extra help can be used. If he wins, he will receive a small prize, just a $50 gas card and some sponser stuff, but he is not planning on keeping the gas card. He has another military budy that just got out and is having trouble finding a job, so in the giving sprit, he is planning to give the card to him to help him out in a time of need. Its not a huge thing, but as someone in need, that can be a big deal to them. Here is his post from our site, www.hrfbody.com:

I have always been a corvette guy, but due to recently graduating college and buying a bike I sold my corvette and bought an 00 SS to keep me entertained until I get some loans paid back.

So, I'm curious as to what kind of exhaust/headers are best. I see that you can pick up parts much cheaper than my c5 and c6 but are brands like flowtech worth the money? I'm not keeping this car forever so I'm just looking for bang for the buck. What are your suggestions on catbacks and headers?

Oh, and cold air intakes, does replacing them have much of an effect?

Thanks in advance.

O and for what it's worth, I did try a search, but this forum has so many models and such I just found for sale threads.

The driver side power window on my 99 Z28 goes down fine but when going up it moves very jerkily and makes fairly loud clicking sounds. Does this sound like the typical window motor problem or is this something else, like the regulator?

I was reading up on the LS1 F-Body and it seems that the major component that is a weak link to the car is the 10 bolt rear end. I've heard that it can blow on stock power, with no abuse or it can hold up through modded racing.

If a stock 10 bolt goes to hell, how much will it cost to fix it?...

If a stock 10 bolt goes to hell, how much will it cost to fix it? How much will parts cost? How much would it cost to fix it in labor and is it a tough fix or something easy?

Is there any preventive measures that can assure you won't have any problems or that will drastically minimize the chance of it?

What is the permanent fix? A built rear end which is about $2,500 bucks?

i think it goes the base model is the v6, the rs model with the v6 and body up grades and diffrent rims, next would be the z28 with the ls1, after that would be the ss and that be the z28 with an upgraded suspinsion, body upgrades, ss hood, ss spoiler, ss rims, after that would be the slp ss wich is the ss that was sent to slp for intake lid, and exhaust

i'm sure there is a tread with this already on it but i looked for 30 minutes and didnt find it

also if anyone knows the hp on those how much it varies from z28 to ss to slp ss

Okay Im gonna need a few opinions. Im completely rebuilding a 2001 b4c and just got the "slightly modified" engine back together. I wanted to do a compression test on it before I put it in the car. Heads have been milled a little bit and Im not sure what this motor should make compression wise stock. Mine was bumpin the needle up around 225 psi. This seems high compared to my other engines I have built. Is this normal or am I going to need to run high octane in it? It is a stock bore 5.7 completely rebuilt but stock bottom end with milled/ported/polished 241s and a pretty big custom grind comp cam. Any input would be great!!
