I didn't post it sooner because the time slip was in the car and it went back to Steve's on the trailer due to some issues that I wanted to get resolved.

On the pass after this one, I turned the boost up a little more as it was still running pretty rich (mid to high 10's AFR). I had already determined that the wastegate diaphragm was leaking but figured I'd just put a little more pressure to it to squeeze some more out of her. When I launched the tires shook so hard that I let off immediately. It felt like it sheared the lugs off the rear tires and I fully expected one of them to go rolling past me. I coasted down the track and as soon I slowed to an idle to pick up the bad slip, the car started running horribly. AFR pegged lean. I quickly realized that the MAP sensor was not operating correctly. We switched it out with the one in Steve's truck and it was still doing it. Finally Steve had me start the car and he pulled the MAP sensor out. Car died. Plugged it back in and fired the car up again and it was fine. The boost pressure must have pushed something into the line and the sudden vacuum must have cleared it out.

I was leaking oil from somewhere on the top of the motor also and since PBIR was going to be doing some bracket racing event all this week, I figured I'd remove the intake and try to find the problem. Finally got it off today and sure enough, the valley cover had puddles of oil in the holes for the knock sensors. Mike @ TEC gave me some new seals and I swapped them out. Hopefully it will resolve that issue.

I ordered a new diaphragm yesterday so I should be ready to run by next Wednesday when things get back to normal at PBIR. Here's the log showing the boost pressure all over the place on that last pass.

This is a double edged sword as it makes you jump around all over the fueling (VE) table and because the fuel pressure regulator is boost referenced it is constantly bouncing the pressure +/- 2 psi which further fucks up fueling. I suspect that is why I am missing about 2 MPH on the long end. Once I get this steady, it should have a bottom 9.4 in it at 15 psi or so.

Buddy just picked up a 96 Formula. I needs a tune up and some TLC but isn't in total shambles. I am hoping for him to make it a good 1/4 performer to go run with me and my truck.

Questions are what should it run stock with the auto? Secondly I want to steer him to spend money on power and not stereo and other things. He is planning on cam, headers, tune for next spring. Any thing else these motor really respond to? I have lots of knowledge on the LSX side of things but this LT1 is foreign to me. Looking for help to make this car run as fast as possible wile not spending allot of money, and keeping it drivable. Thanks

Here is a quick pic. He went and spend $450 on some wheels that look good but I would have like to see that money buy the cam, springs, and other go fast parts!

Only change was that I removed the air cleaner and it was better air. I made one other pass but I aborted it quickly when I saw the weak 1.46 60' and realized that I had left the boost controller off. I love that they are showing the 60' on the score board. You can pretty much tell immediately whether it will be a good pass or not and can decide not to abuse your ride and quickly abort the run. I'm pretty sure that BonnarLS1 got the first one on video and he definetly got the second and best one.

HERE'S THE GOOD ONE

My second run with a cool down and a great burnout 1.61 10.48 @ 132.7

My third and final run hot lapped 1.63 10.64 @ 130.51

It was a great track prep. I wish it was in the 50's though.

Long live the stock 10-bolt (62,000 miles)!!!
Yesterday I went to Dragway 42 with a buddy of mine just to see what the car would do after headers and exhaust. Wasn't looking for major time difference but after two passes I had run a best of 13.04 @ 107.14. 60ft time was 1.98. My car is a a4 with street tires. I was kinda surprised to say the least. My buddy brought his tbss for the first time and he ran a best of 13.98. Not bad for a stock tbss! Anyway it was a fun day and the weather was great. Now if I could only get to the 12's. Any ideas would be great!
