have a pair of ported 317's on the way, griffin radiator, ls6 intake, etc.

pretty excited about the whole thing, been watching this forum for some time now lol...

here's some pics of what I have done so far, probably not gonna drive it for a month or 2 cause I wanna build the fuel system alittle bigger and possibly run e85

had to modify the upper and lower rad supports for the new griffin in the mail

cutout the front bumper for more flow

mounted up the intercooler

and of course the money maker a PT88

and a pic of it installed used some crappy heads I had lying around to mock it up

Well right now I am trying to decide which way to go. I am looking for a little more power and something else to play with really. Car is my 1999 TA WS6 with Forged 347(9.6:1CR), P1SC kit(3.5" IC), TH-400(3800 stall), 60 lb injectors, Racetronix pump, Alky control kit, Full exhaust, and Moser 12 bolt w/3.73's. The car has been set-up the same since 2004 except for the M6 to th-400 swap was done in 2007. The car dropped a half a second off its 1/4mile times from the tranny swap!

Anyway I was just looking at other cars and figured that in the course of the next 8 months or so I would figure out what to do with this car when move back to the US. The P1SC has been good but I am wanting something new and with a bit more power. I would like to stay with FI since it is what I have grown to like and what the car is set-up for.

The car is mainly a weekend warrior that I like to take to the track whenever I can. I am going to continue running the Forged 347. If I go bigger SC I would like to go with a F1 Blower and FMIC. Turbo kits are also an option because I can see by going with an F1 is going to be about the same cost as a turbo kit. Plus I could simply de-install and sell my P1SC kit also... Any ideas/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys i've been looking around ALOT and i've decided its time for me to go into boost. im currently going to be running a 347 buy the end of winter, im getting my rebuild from texas speed. i have done alot of research and found the i will be running an sts kit.

the reason im posting this thread is because i have a few questions about boost as i am still a newb.

1) how well does the stock crank do on boosted motors? I plan on upgrading rods and bolts...

2) im currently running prc 5.3 heads, i was told i should switch heads but im not sure what to replace them with? everyone says the 5.3's increase compression so thats pointless for a boosted motor...

3) will my bbk intake manifold work with a boosted motor, because i also plan on spraying my nitrous with boost. nothin insane maybe a 100shot at most....

4)looking into sts kits, i was told i need to do something about the oil system what exactly does that mean? as well as running an intercooler, is there anyone that makes intercoolers for a rear mount?

all in all i should be able to be finished with my build at the end of this up coming summer, hopefully i can get some videos up and pictures of the build will its in process

Pricing is $950 retail + the ride. V-Bands and EGT Bungs extra.

These headers will not fit a 4th Gen F-body in the up and forward configuration. They will fit when flipped to a down and forward configuration as seen below. Street cars need not apply. No A/C. Alternator relocation. Possible some custom steering shaft work. Not a bad design for those looking to build a Twin turbo race application or wanting to hang a Large frame Thumper in the front bumper.
These same headers pictured below on Jessie Coulter’s 3rd Gen NMCA Real Street Camaro for fitment. They clear everything with plenty of room and look killer doing so. Factory valve covers and truck coil packs clear with only a couple of tight spot on the plug wires.
These headers should fit several other LS1 engine car combinations such as early Camaro’s and Nova’s. Just showing another option for the LS1 Swap crowd.

I'm boosting my LT1 and I want to strip the manifold of all the useless vacuum accessories and anything else that can leak boost. I've already deleted the EGR, it's plugged and doesn't leak. I plugged the PCV and ran a breather, soon to be a catch can.
I bought a 58mm throttle body so I pulled the manifold to port it for the bigger butterflies and I noticed the smaller hole in the front of the throttle body housing. It looks like if goes to a line coming out of the front of the manfold. That line goes to a hard line and then terminates in the side of the manifold. It looks like it has a PCV check valve that goes to the lifter valley, but the check valve is crap and doesn't work well. My question is, Is this another form of PCV and can I delete it. My friend had his manifold ported like a big square and that little hole and everything else was gone. I was gonna do that, but i'm inexperienced and don't really know much about GM design. Help me out I don't want any boost leaks, Thanks Matt

My question is...is there any benefit to using the LS3 manifolds for his turbo build over the truck manifolds? Better clearance? Any relevant flow difference (primary size or design)?

Am looking to freshen up my v7 fed 383 ls1 in the near future. Talked to comp cams and they recomended one of their lsr cams. Has any one got any feedback on how these cams perform compared to say their xer series.

Ok, so I'll make a long story short, I bought this motor from a friend, the Motor is a Forged 370 with some 317s (around 10.0cr), they were held down with some ARP Bolts... The motor saw around 11.5psi and ran great, started to water down the engine bay with anything really over 22* timing, but for whatever reason used to hold more timing than that with 243s and Factory Bolts (?)....

At any rate.. here is a shot of the head clearly showing where the combustion was working its way out. You can see the same type witness areas on the block itself. Pistons look great, plugs looked fine etc... A key factor here is that ONLY the passenger side had any trouble, and primarily it seems that it was #4 and #6 that really opened up...

My main Q is, what would everyone do here on a budget? My plan is to get the heads checked just to make sure they are true, go with some ARP Studs instead of Bolts, and the million dollar question what gasket and how thick can I go?

Give me your thoughts...
