There are only 3 real downsides to the E85. One is availability. The second is that you need alot more injector which adds to the initial cost and complexity of the fuel system. and thus gets way shittier gas mileage. Last but not least is shelf life in the tank so you cant run it in a car that sits for most of the time unless you drain it. Other than that, you can't lose. I would do it if it wasnt a 30 minute drive up the turnpike (tolll road) to get some.

I have not found the limit, 9.5 cr and I have logged 21 psi of boost with 24* timing, without any issues. I am still playing with it.
We have run much higher timing and boost on a lower compression LT4 with zero issues.
It is a great cheap boost fuel.
Could you tell me a little bit about the setup with the LT4. I'm building and LT1 and was starting to consider the fuel system. What did you run as engine mangement? PM me with a list if possible.
What size of injectors is everyone running what would some motoron 60# injectors be good for hp wise on FI and E85?
with 60s 700 is easy of course your motor needs to be up to par, along with supporting mods and good tune. Think e85 as race fuel, allows for timing and a little more boost over 93 octane.

i think 600rwhp is the max maybe a little more with 60's

correct on the 600ish whp depending on the trans and such. Ive ran E85 on my stock longblock 6.0L, BW S475 turbo 4l80 car. Was running around 11-12psi and 14* timing with no intercooler on pump gas, switched to E85, dual intank walbros, big lines and 65# injectors, base pressure at around 65psi. Got up to 16psi and 19* timing with no intercooler when the injectors maxed out at 94%. That was (est.) around 660whp. Was running about 72% on gas with a 50psi base pressure. That was (est.) around 540whp. Also the winter blend argument is pretty moot, the colder weather (a good 30-40 degrees in most parts of the country) makes up for the decreased ethanol just fine. I ran the E70 up here in MN and had no problems maintaining the same boost and timing, but i backed the boost down anyway since the power was unusable on the cold roads. 160# injectors will go to around 1050-1100whp on a stalled auto, you can get a little more with more pressure but i dont recommend pushing them that hard.
Motron 60#'s there are some going strong in a 750 rwhp range at 60% duty cycle. Ask a few guys about their injector/fuel set ups that are running big hp with 60#'s. yeh shocked at that, I would normally hear numbers around 80%. but those are LS motors not LT. as far as using those and e85 I don't know but I was told that I have a station that sales it really close by.
problems when tuning e85,easy to tune with 160# injectors?
I this k if you're running 160s you aren't concerned about idle which the hard part, but with patience u can get it done. If it's a track don't no real worries it'll run On the rich side.
