heads will be fine other than springs and yes stock intake will be fine if you have room for it if not find a ls1/2/6 intake and use it for more clearance but ive heard people say they'd take the truck intake over a ls6... it makes more torque so its good for street use but i think it will work out just fine with your build
and to cut cost you can find the chevy 8.1L stock injectors there 42lb pm me for a store on ebay that sells them for $20 a piece

Do you actually know what you're getting into? If you push a stock motor with boost sooner or later you're going to end up rebuilding it and spending more money in the end. I'm doing a "cheap" buildup and I'm pushing $12,000 as of now. Stick with nitrous unless you have the funds.
have you noticed people have been running turbo's on the 5.3's with up to 18lbs of boost on stock bottom ends (with the exception of rod bolts) these motors are strong and i see no problem running a 5.3 with a good tune on 8-10psi
edit: did he delete his post?

i say stock, but i will be putting all good ARP fasteners in it. but thats it.

I wasn't being nice, so I would rather other people say it instead. A 10 second turbo car is unrealistic if you're trying to be cheap about it. People become allured to forced induction due to quick and easy power; but it seems there are few these days who are willing to build up a motor to properly handle it.
You may see builds of stock motors pushing 18-20 pounds, but I'll be damned if my forged engine won't be purring away long after his is blown. Spray lots of meth.
But if you're intent on proving people wrong here is what I would do:
Used 5.3 shortblock-317 heads to lower compression $500?
918's at a minimum to control valves under boost $150
Z06 cam $200
42# injectors $250
ARP rod bolts $80
Ported oil pump $60
Reverse truck manifolds $100
Ebay turbo parts $500
Manual boost controller $70
Garret, or MP turbo $500-900
Lines/fittings $200
SLP Head/cam gasket kit (will have most of the gaskets you need) $250?
Innovative LC-1 $250
Boost gauge $50
Tune $500
And since you want to run 10's you can't forget your safety stuff:
Roll cage (Minimum 6pt) $500
DS loop $100
etc
etc
etc

It adds up. I'm sure there's more...
eh ive found alot better prices than what you mentioned but here check this out youve probally seen it before but this was a budget build (i heard like 3k for everything including car but idk if thats true)

i got this camaro for $400... and it is super clean.. blown up v6 right now.
im gonna shoot to do the whole car under $5k
thats very possible take a look at that parts list i sent you thats got a decent budget of around 2000 before piping and everything that will probally be around another 1000 so i think its very doable and will be pretty reliable on a good tune and low boost

I don't know. A V6 to V8 conversion with turbo for $5K. What about the tranny? Computer and harness? Fuel system?
i have a built th350, ill have to get a harness and computer, fuel system wise......im not sure what is needed yet, but i have a dual walbro 340 setup i may use.

You can go budget and likely get it done. Local guy did up a pretty low budget third gen.It hit 11.23 at 126 and think 10s are going to be there. But he still built forged engine but would say he has around 5000 into all of it.
You can get buy with stock rear end with auto. And yeah turbo 350 built might do the trick, turbo 400 even better. Iron block 6.0 or whatever are pretty cheap. You can get buy with stock cam, stock heads, better valve springs still good idea. And seen ok results from the pretty reasonable master power turbos..Local guy mentioned above has one of those.
But it all does add up. And if the bug bites then it can get even more expensive. Boost is very addictive and most guys always want more and more power. Seen several FI builds on stock blocks go boom. If you are very conservative you likely can keep it together but you should be content with any 10 even 10.99. Thats still plenty fast for a budget build up.
Get greedy with stock engine well plan on tow home. And you still could wind up breaking stock rear end even on auto. Local guys still do here and there but of course not like the m6 guys.
And more to this turbo stuff than just buying the parts. You do need to know how to tune it or have access to someone that does. Have decent fuel support for the power levels you want. Think you can hit 10s with about 500 or so rwhp which is very doable with turbo on even stock engine.
a pa k member and coil over conversion, a manual rack to take a lot of weight off. I did it to mine, plus manual brakes etc etc....Pretty easy to take off 200 lbs.
I ve seen pcm 's for 100, and a new custom harness for 325 now. Its possible, but its also pretty cheap to do it alot better also. For my car, whicj for what it is, is pretty budget, I ve spent a lot on the little stuff. Fuel system, safty equip, etc etc....They always add up.
