8's are right around the corner!

We have very similar ET goals, but I am cheating a bit by shaving a ton of weight out of the car. I am hoping to be less than 3,200lbs with me in it.

BTW- What did your car weigh at the track?

Jim
Thanks guys, didn't weigh the car, but we are scaling it this week once I get the Afco's installed. I am guessing 3500+.

Got the Afco's, going to install tonight. Madman gave me some great info on setup. If the weather holds out, we are going back to the track on Sunday.

holy crap that's a neat thread to read. I've been toying with a 408 single build but this gives me hope to go with a 370 motor instead. Mind if I PM you for some specs on the build?(block, heads, etc) this would give me some insight on my second motor and possibly save me some bucks buying a stroker kit! Thanks and good luck with that fine hotrod!!

Thanks guys...
Here is the buildup rundown thread....
GT4788 370ci. L92 buildup pics

If you need anything else, feel free to ask.
That thread was started a while ago, before the car was running. Some stuff has proven to work such as my custom 3 in tank 255 Walbro fuel pumps..
Other stuff like the LS7 head gaskets, did not work out.
Needless to say my goals have been met and surpassed in most areas, and we are starting to see the light, and it is getting fun now.

Do you have any pictures of the finished product? Curious to see the front with the radiator in place and see some of the clearances. I'm wrapping up my build and am concerned with the proximity of the turbo to the radiator. Thanks.

Cody at www.lovefab.com built them. He was my neighbor back in Michigan. This was the first V8 he had done, he specializes in Acura NSX kits, but will turbo just about anything.
Just got the car on the lift. Going to install the shocks.

Shocks are installed all the way around. Those 325# spings on the front coilovers, are a cocksucker to adjust. Hopefully the rain will clear up before Sunday. 8's here we come........

just watched the video in your sig. I tell ya, once we get the AFCO's adjusted your tires are gonna bite the ground like a chihuahua on a mail man. I definitely see 8's in your future. The last pass in your vid, it looked like you didn't hook until you got up to the '60... that will no longer be a problem.

Yeah, I knew the stock shocks were going to be a problem, and the video shows exactly that. When I pulled the old ones out, they were all leaking, and the right rear was toast. I figured the Afco's will be key. You can see it hook on the line, then unload and spin. It looks like everything else is functioning properly.
Thanks again for the help, I will update you to the outcome.

What about a taller sidewall? That would definitely help out. That's alotta power for some 18's. I know mine don't hook worth a damn.

Car is bad ass and your engine bay looks like a cluster fuck

Thanks for the picture. Any overheating issues with the turbo being so close to the radiator? I can't really tell from that angle just how close it is but here is mine.

Hope to have it running next week.
