Default who's got the least expensive turbo kit and still running 1 1/2-2 years +

I know it costs a ton to make up a good turbo kit and get all the components to go along with it. I'm not really doing anything to my car in the immediate future but i'd like to see what you all have done with minimal and with good results. I see lots of people dumping 20k+ into their cars and still have issues...i wanna see the dude who put 6k into his car and it's still running without flaws. There has to be someone out there that got everything just right!

If you do stainless or coated, you won't have to worry about rust. If you use name brand parts, you won't have to worry about breakage. If you don't push the power envelope/have a good tune, your motor will survive. It all depends on what your goals are and how much you can spend to get you there.

What else have you put into it besides extra push rods and the kit?

My car has held up for a LONG time, motor wise,

but I have gone through clutches and alternators and one tranny.

Everything else has been minor tweaks here and there no big deal. I have never even needed to change a spark plug.

No, it costs a ton to buy one that is already made up. I made all mine (nova in sig). few hundred into all the piping. I think I calculated it out to about $5500 into the entire drivetrane (minus rear end). Junk yard Engine, rebuilding the tranny, fuel system, turbo, intake, intercooler, injectors, exhaust, even the tuning software and wideband. Its been running flawlessly going on 3 years now. Stock 5.3L w/a cam and Master power GT45 @ 15psi and a 50 shot of spray. Weird how I have a 99 Transam and a 99 vette, and this in my Nova in the dead of winter -20 degrees outside and this is the only one that will fire right up... I dont drive it in the winter, its just very reliable. And I beat it. Only thing Ive had problems with is tires going bad.
