Truck manifolds go 202.80mph
I don't post online much anymore but thought I would share. For those that dont know...we were the 1st to use truck manifolds in an F-body. We have been pushing them to to see how far they would go.
Two years ago we thought we had found the limits and I built a set of 1.75" headers for the Camaro. Still using the same 2.5" Y-pipe we didn't see any improvement last year. This year I built a set of 2" headers and used a 3" Y-pipe on the Camaro. We have made some other motor upgrades and haven't leaned on this combo yet. But in a side by side race using very close tunes and boost. Both cars ran very similar times.
My TA has ran the same mildly ported truck manifolds and a 2.5" Y-pipe. I'm using ALL PRO cathedral port heads. A Victor Jr intake with an Intake Elbow setup using a 90mm tb. Both motors are 427 in an ERL Prepped LS2. Both cars use a PT billet 106mm turbo. Both are solid roller and shift over 8,000rpm.
I went 202.80mph in my TA while testing and trying to battle a tire shake issue. It actually over ran my wastegate and put 34psi into it. The next pass it still shook the tires but ran on the gate and went 198.25mph. So I know it wasn't a fluke. I have gotten the tire shake issue resolved but the top of the track at 1320x wouldn't take it so I backed it down and went a new best of 7.63 @ 188. Were heading to the track Friday where the weather looks good and should be able to turn it back up. Lets see how quick these manifolds will go.

Were going to Norwalk on Friday for there Radial race. Then if all goes well were leaving there and heading to KY for the OVOS race on Sat.
Phil,
Any videos will be the ones they shot at 1320x. We used to film and the person doing it would complain about not being able to see the race. So we always hope somebody else is.

Steve told me you went 203 when I was asking him about how much he thought the headers would pick up on the Camaro. That's seriously impressive and pretty much made up my mind of whether or not I wanted to spend the time, money, and effort to fab us a set myself. When you say mildly ported what work have you done to them? There was a thread here recently about the discrepancy in the outlet size.

How massaged were the factory manifolds? Regardless it is very impressive. Some back to back testing would be an easy way to find out. I'll stop by Friday night and say hello, looking forward to meeting you guys.

As far as port work... All I did was opened the ports at the heads to match the heads.
Ray,
Im running the TH210 right now. Carl is still working on maken the pump gears in the 80E handle the rpm I run. But think I have the power now to run what I want. I'll just short shift it and run OD out the back. I want to run Drag Week this year and will use the 80E.
