Been working with MADMAN. I run a lot of his parts. Hooking a car near ~1000rwhp isn't a cake walk on a 10.5 tire. Takes many track days to get it dialed. Soon the launch will come around.

some rough ballpark idea
Those numbers don't seem right. Should be a mid-low 8 at over 160mph with those kind of numbers. Unless the car weighs 4500lbs that is. Is this an f-body we're talking about?

Good runs, it's moving out! I would think that the converter is going to have more to do with coming up on the brake than a 2 step will. Usually the 2 step will just keep your launches consistent when used with a transbrake, not make it spool faster.

From my research, everyone makes more boost on a 2step/tbrake combo rather than just the tbrake on the launch.

Are you serious? It kills spark running unburnt fuel through the turbo exhaust housing. It DEFINITELY aids spooling.

Sure they do, but it has to get to that RPM to engage the 2 step. Most of the time if the converter is that tight it's still going to take a while to come up into boost enough to push the RPM up to the 2 step. I never said it wouldn't make more boost with the 2 step, I said it will take the same amount of time for the RPMs to come up.

What RPM do you plan on setting the 2 step at and how long does it take you to get there now.... that's my point. For example, my 2 step is set at 3800 rpm but my converter is tight enough that it still takes 2-3 seconds to get to that area. It only aids in how much boost you are leaving with when you get to that set RPM which is why I said it's not going to help you get up on the converter any quicker, only give you a bit more boost and consistency.

If the converter is too tight a 2 step won't help it. I didn't make any more boost on my Vigilante 2800 with the 2 step at any rpm vs just using the trans brake. It did help me launch more consistently since I didn't have to watch anything though. After I swapped out to my PTC 3600 I'm able to get against the 2 step much faster.

If your setup right, you can use the 2 step to build boost and then flash the converter using it as a bit of a shock absorber on launch. At 3800 rpms and no 2 step I make about 1psi on the trans brake, but with the 2 step i make about 5 psi and get some flash out of the converter. Best I've ever hooked on my current setup was a 1.52 60' on a 8psi launch. 3700 rpms and 5psi gets me 1.7's usually. You have to experiment because the amount of boost you make is going to vary with rpm and sometimes it's really touchy.

I'm lacking a good susp setup and track prep to launch hard though.

My car doesnt need a ton of rpm to build boost. I hit 3000rpms+ no problem on the brake. RPM is not the issue.....boost is. The 2-step set ~3000rpms will be very attainable in just 1 second or so. I'm sure once its on the 2 step boost will come faster than without it. I will definitely be posting after my first outting with it. Synergy is hooking me up with one for a killer price! Thanks Rick!

I run an art carr converter and it came with the first re-stall for free. So if I need to I can send it in for an adjustment.

It's been my experience on a few different setups that using a 2 step in that manor helps very little in the spool department when leaning on a t-brake setup. Of course that depends on the converter as well so hopefully it works out for you.

are you tuning to get it to spool faster....more timing less fuel? the 2 step will help you get the launch more consistent as well as make it easier to stage. LPE has a real 2 step...your rev limiter plus 2 more steps = 3 limiters unlike the old days where everyone just added one limiter + your rev limiter and called it a 2 step. I do not know what synergy offers at the moment.
