It's hard to find time to post these days; real busy now.
Time to install the LS9 supercharger base onto the L92 heads.
Here's an overhead view showing the fuel pressure regulator installed. Also a good look at the TVS 2300 rotors:
With the base installed, it's time to put the SC cover on.
A couple of issues here. I don't particularly like the looks of the IC manifold on the front of the SC.
It's fine on the ZR-1 since they hide it with the fancy blue cover:
On my 91 there won't be a cover, and the other problem is that the water hookups are pointed towards the passenger side; just the opposite of my old Magnuson which came off of the back and pointed towards the drivers side. Since all of the old plumbing, pump, reservoir, etc. is still mounted in the car, how about converting the whole IC system to come out the BACK of the cover instead!!
We disassembled the entire IC system to see if we could turn it around, cut the rear of the lid open, and bring the plumbing out the back.
We had to machine the back smooth and true it up, and the make a new flange out of aluminum stock and weld it in place, keeping all internal dimensions the same so that the intercooler "bricks" could be flipped around and installed in the exact same location, only backwards, and have the IC manifold bolt on exactly the same way, only in the back!
All we had to do for the front after this mod was to make a couple of block-off plates for the old holes.
Thanks to Scott at Speedcraft Prototypes for all of the precision machining and TIG welding!
I had to use the LS9 valve cover on the drivers side to clear the power steering pump, so I went ahead and got one for the passenger side to even out the look.
It's a pretty nice looking valve cover anyway with the coils mounted directly to the covers (no bracket).
I need to get a little tuning done on it to make sure the A/F is good and then off to the track for some runs!
The only problem is that the season is just about over for this year. I don't know if I'll be able to get it all tuned in time to run it this year.
wow this is great man...i would really love to see some number hehe

i love that yall did all that custom work to the blower just cuz you didnt like the IC plumbing location and apperance LOL. thats super clean though, job well done and super fierce sleeper! did you do anything performance wise to it other than the heads? pulley, port blower etc?
come to Texas out tracks are always open and HRP is a fast track

What did you have to do to the fuel system - just the LS9 fuel rail?
The rest of the fuel system was already up for the task. The maggie had an 8AN fitting on the fuel rail. Since the LS9 fuel rail is 3/8 inlet I added this slick Aeromotive adapter/quick disconnect.
The back of the fuel rail was also modded so that an adjustable FPR could be included in the system. I can adjust the fuel pressure if needed right thru the middle of the IC manifold:
so... when is the kit for our 4th gens gonna be available?
