Since we are working on the stand alone harness/computer kits for the LS9 crate engine swaps, I couldn't help noticing how nice and compact the TVS 2300 S/C package is on this engine.
GM laid this whole thing out really well; not too tall, not too wide on any of the components, 11 rib belt right from the factory, etc. It's so much more compact compared to the MP-112 Magnuson I've been running for the past few years on my 91 Z28.
The car still runs consistent 10.7's but since the engine has grown to 408 cubes, the MP-112 is dreadfully outsized and only makes 4 psi using the smallest pulley they make for it.
How about an LS9 TVS-2300 upgrade!
We started tearing down the engine in the Z for the swap while at the same time gathering parts and doing a mockup on another short block in the shop.
My ported LS6 heads have been great, but the LS9 S/C uses the LS3/L92 style heads.
Off with the LS6 heads.
The pistons and cylinder walls all look great, so nothing needed there.
Thanks to Richard at West Coast Cylinder Heads for the quick service on a beautiful set of CNC ported and milled L92 heads for the project.
WCCH is known for turning out nice heads and these are no exception!
I gotta tell you, having a complete LS9 in here makes it super convenient for figuring out everything you need for a swap, and how it all fits together!
So you will be using the stock supercharger off the crate motor on your old setup?
Now this is a SC kit I would be VERY interested in for my truck!

def subscribing to this, that whole set up looks a smidge lower than my Vic JR intake, 90mm TB set up.....I just wonder how hard it would be to swap this into a 4th gen after all.
With the others using kmember spacers and some "cutting" right above the maggie on the 4th gen kits to get it in there...I wonder how much more you'd have to cut or lower the kmember to get this to fit....i'd think it wouldn't be too painful if it was tried.

I went ahead and used the LS9 head gaskets. I don't know if that's good or bad so we'll find out.
Lotsa layers to them:
Time to move on to the blower base.
I had to modify the "ears" on the back of the blower (the 2 holes) so that I could add AN fittings to the back of the fuel rails. This way I can put the needed boost referenced FP regulator in the fuel system.
I used the 60# "stubby" injectors from Racetronix. Since the injectors fit back in a "pocket" there aren't a lot of injector choices. The 60's should be about perfect for this setup.
Here's a straight down view showing how the SC ports blend right in with the heads:
And a side view of the front brackets:
GM steps to the head of the pack with a really neat 11 rib belt system that should eliminate all of the belt slippage problems that the maggie guys are battling with the 6 rib and 8 rib setups.
I'm not sure how you settle in on "11" ribs versus 10 or 12, but it works for me!

I'll put up some side by side pics later of the MP 112 next to the LS9 TVS 2300.
Way to step up and be the first people to do this AND share it with everyone on this board! I have been interested in this in a while, but it seems like nobody was in a position to pull the trigger and give it a shot.
I have a Magnuson TVS2300 on my LS3 vette and it doesn't look much like the LS9 setup. The actual blower (Magnuson TVS and LS9} is made by Eaton I believe. Not much else is the same though. That thing should be nasty with the WCCH heads on top.
