That sounds sick but also sounds like the type of thing that would come appart when you least expect it.

Under strenuous circumstances like racing I like to keep things simple and strong. Not the absolute best for performance but adds a higher safety margin.. and generally even playing it safe you can still make the car faster than the driver.

A bit off topic guys...

As much massaging and force it takes to get these wide, low profile tires on rims I'd argue these would only last through a couple or few tire changes max.

Wow, so subscribed. That is a sick build my friend, disregard all the pointless negativity. It's awesome to see someone build a car of their dreams. It's almost like a real hotwheels car, that's what it looks like to me.

Although this doesn't fit everyone's taste, I think it's one of the sickest builds out there. I can't wait to actually see you make that much power and see how the car does. It's awesome to see someone do that to a RX7. Most people with same goals would start it with something like a Ford GT

I realize your car is form over function, but for your own safety I would recommend that you REALLY study aerodynamics at those high speeds and you will need a better cage than a 6 point as well,

You could probably fit like a 395 tire with the right size wheel in the back, lol

Just waiting for the availability of parts to catch up. The widest rim Makaveli could make at the time was 20x13.5 and they had to outsource to get the 6" lips. If I had it my way I'd run a 20x20 and a 545/10/20 or something (there's plenty of room under there)

Did you run the car? How did it do?

Funny, that's my friend Andy's black Viper you just posted a picture of. If you drink, he'll make great company!

You did a great job on the car, sharing the info has been a long time coming as I think I have seen the pic in your sig for almost 6 - 7 months? The car looks excellent, among one of the best builds on here bar none. Please keep posting - this is great work...

No, car is not running yet. Just went down to scope it out, meet up with some friends, and hang out

Yeah, good guy. We talked for a few minutes. I was asking how his tire combo was working for him since he was running the exact same tires I have on my car. He said they launched fine for him at 700rwhp, just don't think they'll do the trick for me at 1300 so I'll probably do slicks as originally planned...

Thanks for the props man. This is the build of a lifetime-for me.

A few updates; the pinion flange that came with the cobra 8.8 I bought was off a thunderbird which has a smaller diameter and wouldn't work with the DSS 1350 large bolt pattern. I bought a new cobra pinion flange, installed it and the DS bolted right up!

I didn't think I'd have a problem accessing the fill plug on the diff cover but I was wrong. I had to drill a hole in the center of the cover and tap it with a 1/8NPT. Instead of a plug, I decided to give it a vent and put a barb fitting in with a hose that extends above the diff. In went 2qts of 90wt gear oil.

I got my modified stock tank back today from a good friend. With all the built up undercarriage spray it may not look nice but it has been pressurized and leak
tested with no issues. There are a couple shots with the pumps installed. I'll be measuring then ordering all the lines and fittings next weekend. If all goes well, I'll be cranking her up for the first time in a couple weeks

Update: I purchased a cog bracket lower support from EPP, got it sat and installed it Sun. Don't know that it was necessary but I like their design and being that I'm spinning an F2 I figured it was cheap insurance. Since I'm running a sprag drive and they designed it on a smaller std cog pulley, the bracket nut is touching the belt at this point. I'm waiting for them to get back to me on an updated bracket as I'm sure others will run into this problem if running the sprag drive. It provides angular preload to the lower bracket to help counter the pull of the crank pulley.

I have a 3.5" straight silicone coupler that links the F2 directly to the A2WIC then a 90deg 3.5" to 4.0" that links the IC directly to the TB so there is NO piping. That being said, I didn't have anywhere to place the Procharger Race Bypass valve. So I decided to mount it right to the top tank of the intercooler. I'll be dropping the parts off at the shop tomorrow and hopefully have them later this week.

I just finished ordering the rest of the fuel system - all teflon lines, hose fittings, filters, Y blocks, check valve, vaccume hose, boost ref regulator, etc- in parts alone I'm at $3.5K for the fuel system still need hobbs switch and relays to wire things up.

Yea man, I hear ya on the little things. When you really start getting into it, the term 'nickle and dime ya' don't just seem to add up for what these small parts can set ya back! Glad you are making progress at least and going in the right direction

Here's a link to a 550RWHP 440LS7 that ran 196mph naturally aspirated.

I think he'll do okay with over twice the power.

Pictures?

I also hear you on the nickle and diming thing. That's why I changed my Formula's build to get it running. I was getting hit for a couple hundred on tons of things and it was just running me out of money and quickly.
