Default Turbo RWHP???

Will a stock 5.3 with with a t60 STS turbo system with 42# injectors make 650 RWHP? The number seam a little high. What do you guys think?

I would think the injectors are way too small.

I don't see it happening .. I am thinking you will need some fuel system, some bigger injectors and a larger turbo .. im thinking 480-520 is the mark on that setup.

With a heavy truck the 42's will barely hold 500rwhp. 60's can do it but you need a good fuel system in the truck.

You probably need a bigger turbo, and injectors. The injectors definitely won't do it, and you will be maxxing that turbo out.

Turbo and injectors are both too small. You might hit 550rwhp at 15lbs of boost. Not sure where you got those numbers. I do know that STS's rates there stuff a little on the high end. I have GT67 STS setup on 6.0L and was making 430 hp on 6lbs of boost. At a little over 8lbs of boost we were seeing 480 and then the journal bearing in the turbo cut loose, we did not know it at the time. At 12 lbs of boost I was just shy of 500rwhp on a mustang dyno. 1lb of boost was giving us pretty close to 22hp. So at 12 lbs of boost I should have been around 550rwhp and 15lbs of boost around 600rwhp. No way a 60mm turbo will get you to 650rwhp. My turbo is replaced now and I am waiting to get the car retuned on the dyno.

i have no clue what the op is getting at.....we were discussing this on a local forum...the car mentioned is a 02 z28 with your usual bolt ons and an sts rear mount kit...the only specs ive seen on the turbo are that its a 60-1....anyway the duy bought the car and thinks the motor is shot...

long story short it made 537rwhp and 6xxrwtq on a mustag dyno....the car has 42lb/hr svo injectors which are more like 48-49 lbers on our fuel setup....

for some reason the car floated out at 4900rpm and then blew a valvecover gasket on the dyno....me and a few otheres told the owner of the car he needed to ditch the stock pvc setup and upgrade the stock valvesprings....

his buddies are telling him that the motor is done and needs rebuilt...

they are telling him to sell the turbo kit and rebuild his engine,do h/c and nitrous....
which in my opinion will cost more and not make anywhere near the power the turbo is....

the only damn thing about a 5.3 that was mentioned is that me and the original owner of the car told him IF the motor was bad"doubt it is" to do a low mileage truck motor pullout...nothing else was said...I love how people can turn shit around and make it sound so retarded...

hope any of what i typed makes sense....

Yeah I am the original owner... I love how these people have no clue. The car is it's original LS1. The car made 537whp and 634tq at 4900rpm. Then the pcv clogged and built up crank pressure and popped the valve cover on driver side and pushed the dipstick on the passenger side. Yes its got 42# ford racing injectors which actually run in the mid 50# range on ls1's. It's got a walbro 255 and the racetronix wiring kit, has headers, mocal oil scavenging pump, etc...not that I care anymore but the car made the numbers I have a witness that was with me and you can call the tuner "amazon tuning solutions in sc" I wish people would get a clue before posting about something in which they have no idea. Heck even sts made 509whp @8psi on their car and I think 2 guys garage made over close to or over 500 on theirs??? Mine was at 8 to 8.5 psi. I wasn't expecting that kinda power either??? I was thinking more like mid to upper 4's at the wheels... But oh well

Stroked383z & 5 02ls1. Guys don't be so offensive. I wasn't calling anyone out. I have a 5.3 in my new truck and have been doing a lot of research on turbos and maggies. KB Racing makes the front mount kit I'll be using with some drop in truck 60's. Still thinking MP T76 or a little bigger in mind. I wasn't throwing off on anyone. If I could get those levels with a smaller turbo, injectors and rear mount. It would save a lot of money. I never said anything about you screwing the boy over. All I said that I thought that the stock valve spring was not strong enough to hold that much boost. Chill.
