Hey man, good luck with your build. I'm going to be running a 408 with stock manifolds and a air research 91mm turbo. I'm going to be running meth and air to water on a street car. I'm running L92's so I'm not planning on pushing more then 15psi but I'm looking to safely put down 750rwhp on 93 octane safely. I'll be checking up on your build progress.

800rwhp on pump is very easy without meth. just need a good intercooler not an ebay deal

I was trying to rush this build to get the car boosted (hate putting miles on my 402) possibly going to a smaller turbo (88mm) but I'm just going to tough it out and do it right. It's going to take me some time though so don't hold your breathe!

What A2A intercooler would you reccommend? I think I'm going to end up getting the alkycontrol kit with controller. I don't want to run meth but sounds like it's a wise investment, just hate when it runs out and I'm scares to use washer fluid haha.

Does everyone still suggest a T6 91mm turbo (GT91)? My builder is suggesting a T4 88 or 91 for better spool. Keep in mind it's a street car, just want the right turbo.

Get an 88mm will be more benificial for a street setup and have quicker spool.

I might just go with a pt88 and run a 4" DP reduced to 3.5" to fit thru the stock K-member. This way I'd have an extremely fast spool, still be on stock mounts and save some money.

800hp minimum here, on pump gas, with a cheap ebay intercooler. I don't seem to have a problem with it. I have a 408 at 8.5 to 1 comp. I'm switching to a a2w on the new setup, but this one has been going strong for a couple years.

Hmm that sounds promising, only difference I see is our CR (mines 9.2:1). I may just run meth anyway, well see. If I can guarantee 800rwhp with a better A2A and no meth I'd gladly do that. What's the biggest IC you can fit in a camaro bumper? Which IC is good for 800rwhp and no meth? I might be going with a pt88 turbo now.

With the higher CR, I'd probably look into a better ic. You have a ton of room for the ic up front if your willing to remove the bumper support and a little fab work.

I would add the meth it will last a goodwhile. While your driven it dosent spray at all. When you use a progressive kit it will start at set boost points. Since I had my meth kit I filled it like 5 times in a matter of 4 months. I still have a 1/4 of a tank after some top end runs at 180+mph. But if ur just 1/4 mile u should get atleast 15 passes to a tank. I use the half gallon tank behind my head light. But as far as IAT's running that long I never see over 100* spraying meth on a 88* day or night. Also my tuner added a safety net just in case I run out the timing wont kick in.

I have no problem taking the support out, I just wonder if it's safe driving it around on the street. This is a street car and who knows if it'll ever see a track (I'm not putting anything more then a 6pt cage, no kill switch etc). So I don't know how often I'll go thru meth, probably a lot. Hence why I wanted to not run anything, not have to worry about it. What intercooler should I go with? I don't need a race one but a bigger one would be nice, no crazy $1500 one tho.

My car is a street car no cage with alot off boost lol. I did not remove the bumper support I cut it all the way to the bolts in width and mounted the cooler in the middle. Also since u have a camaro u will have to shave down the bulges behind the bumper where the fog lights suppose to go. and remove the foam stuff in there and ur good.

What intercooler do you run? My options are dropping $500 on a progressive meth kit or a better intercooler. Could I just run the ebay intercooler and then run meth safely to 1000rwhp? I really just want 800rwhp but would love to hit 1000rwhp once just to say I did it. I don't mind cutting up the bumper for a bigger intercooler, I just don't want to mess anything up or have it become weak and break under high speeds.

I dont remember the size but its huge. I guess the one way to look at it is, look at ur bumper support and mesure 1 inche from the bolt holes in width and the bottom of the cooler touches the bottom of the inside bumper.


The thing is this between what ur looking at. What will give u the lowest temps now, The meth along with the intercooler u have. Running a better intercooler than the ebay one will net lower restriction meaning less boost will be needed to hit ur goals. and lower intake temps. IMHO you can do it with the ebay and meth, But u can do it better with a high flowing I/C and meth.

What intercooler are you running? I will have to get my builder to measure what size FMIC I can fit in there. I just don't know what one to go with. Would love to hit 800rwhp on a good IC and 1000rwhp on meth.
