Took my rx7 to the track today and hit one of my goals I've wanted for awhile. To drive there, run a 9 and drive it home, which it did, only tweaked the tune and aired down the tires. All passes were on e85, $1.99 gallon cheap fuel! I was leaving SUPER SOFT so I didn't hurt the rear end, only running 5lbs all of 1st gear(~75mph) and 11lbs in 2nd and 3rd. It's a 140k mile junkyard 5.3 with a homebuilt manifold kit with a TC78, th400 with coan 4000 nitrous converter, ford 8" rear end with a 3.00 gear. Car has less than $7500 total invested, I need to add it up, but probably closer to $6000. I want to give a big thanks to Maxxmitchell, I couldn't have done it without him.
Put it on the dyno on Saturday, made 408rwhp on 5lbs and 557rwhp on 11lbs with 19 degrees timing. On 10 degrees timing it made 515rwhp. Car still has a lot left in it on this budget setup.

We've had it turned up to 14.5lbs in my buddies car, same motor/turbo so it should still have some left in it. Plus actually using high boost in 1st gear should help a lot(I used it on the street in the top of 1st gear).

I'd also like to point out the motor hasn't had an easy life, I drive it and beat on it quite a bit, before I got the motor it was in my friends 3rd gen with the tc78 getting beat on a lot(quite a few 160-170mph pulls). This weekend alone it's been wot at least 35 times I can think of off the top of my head so it's not like it's a one pass wonder and will blow up, it's not turned up and on the edge.

The TC series units rock. We have sold tons of them and they really will take a beating. Great #'s so far.....I see their is alot left in it as far as turbo is concerned.
Plastic cell, braided line/hard lines, two 255 walbro external pumps. It's actually the 2nd time I had the car out to the track with the turbo setup, the 1st time it made it 15ft and killed some teeth on the ring gear the very first pass.
I actually bought a T6 76 off here I was going to run next year, but I think I'm going to sell it and keep the TC78, I think it has enough to push me over 150mph without much problem.

About a month ago, my buddy offered me his 5.3/turbo so we built a new kit and threw it all in my car. The lt1 went 10.28 at 129, best mph was 131, but it would go mid/high 1.4x 60fts. I might try to leave harder to see what it will do next week, just don't want to kill the rear end.

I am running a truck pan, it hangs low which is why I raised the front end of the car back up some. I'm going to have a local welder modify it this winter as he has done it before to a truck pan.
