Twin Turbo Chevy II build
Due to some unfortunate circumstances I have to build another car Some of you already know my silver 64 Chevy II this car is going to basically be a re-body, but with lots of upgrades My goal for the car is to have a legitimate street car that I can drive to the track and click off some 8 second times (just a goal, reality will set in later) Anyway, here is the car I'm restoring/modifying. You gotta really use some imagination to realize it will actually be a cool car when I'm done putting my treatment to it.
First step is to the lift bay for some dismantling

Cutting out the stock frame rails and installing some 2x3" mandrel bent rails. I'm going to leave my self room for plenty of tire out back.
Setup the rear frame section on my layout table and welded it up before installing in the car.
Made some front spring pockets that slide up and around the frame rail and crossmember with adjustable holes so I can get the ridehight perfect.

Ok, backhalf is done, time to make some one off subframe connectors. The Chevy II's have a 4 bolt flange that the front subframe bolts to. I bent up some chrome moly and made the connector go from the 4 bolt flange for the front end, down through the factory frame rails, to the front leaf spring pocket on the rear frame.
Ahh, the new one piece floor pan in the background

Now I can cut the floor out and get the outriggers in for the cage.
Now it's off to the DC Performance in MD for the cage work. He did an outstanding job in half the time I could do it in (and half the wasted pipe lol)
One piece A-pillar bars through the dash and back to the main hoop.
Cage dropped down to weld the top
Brace hidden under the rear package tray
Playing in the new jungle gym.

Got her back home. Next project is to install the floor and get her up on the rottisserie. Here is my 1 piece floor pan that I had to cut in 2 to make it fit.
Got that all done and the car off the lift and on the rottisserie. I picked up one of the new Aeromotive fuel cells with an in-tank eliminator series pump, so I gotta weld some brackets to it and make some mounts in the car. Welded in some 1 1/4" CM tubing just in front of the cell and I'm using the rear crossmember for the rear mount.
welded some aluminum angle to the cell
mounting studs tig'd into the tubing

Here's were I smoothed the firewall. I want to set the motor back in the car 2" so I made a notch for the pass. side to set in. The drivers side is where I got rid of the factory wiper mounting crap.
Had to replace a rusty panel
Here you can see the factory wheel tubs. They are next on the agenda
little bit of mini tub action (not so mini though)
Ahh, got room for the new meats now! 345/34/18 MT Drag radials

Laying out the trunk tin work
I cut out the toe kicks in order to make some recess's for my turbo downpipes
My Little helpers love to pitch in on the project with thier Dad!
Right after I told them there was a stink bug in the tire.
Bangin gears early!

awsome. your goal for a street car that can go 8s is not a dream
if my 3600 lb s10 all steel with full interior can go 8.80s drive all over on pump e85 and a stock 010 block with no hard block. for 3 yrs. i think its deff doable.
maybe u should make your goal 7s.!!!!!!

Thanks! I'm putting the power from the silver car in it, but I only got to run it once last year. It went 9.32 @ 152 at 14psi. I'm figuring that 8s should be pretty achievable. I would really like to see 8.50s. This car should be alot lighter and alot stronger so I'm hoping she'll do it.

More rust repair
Here I made some braces from the factory frame rails/bumper mounts to the new frame rails.
Made some gussets for the front of the spring pockets
