Default EBAY turbos....Guys please read

Hey guys, the ones that have bought the E-bay turbos, be careful on what you buy.

I just recieved a unit from one of my customers (member of this board) that bought the infamous "SuperT70" from Ebay. The turbo is flat out JUNK . Guys DO NOT keep buying these units. Thanks to this unit the crap that came out of the turbo is now inside my customers new 348 LS1. I could care less whether you buy the turbos from myself or any other reputable shop, but don't skimp on buying garbage turbos from Ebay to save a few bucks. This is the 8th turbo already this year that I have recieved from customers that have bought Ebay turbos. None of the failures are anything that even resemble typical turbo failures. Buy them at your own risk, but just becareful of what you buy. Most of the other units were the "Super" series turbos from Ebay and the Master Power Knock offs. Just a little FYI...

You going to make it down for the gathering this year?? I plan to be there if I can get away from the business for that weekend. Man business has gone crazy and I have barely enough time to race...hehe. Heck we are now building systems and shipping parts international as well. Hard to understand some of these customers though....lol. Once again man...great to see you. BTW, ever heard anything again from Ken and Mary Collings??

There has been a rash of China knock offs lately. Some honda guys actually had the compressor housing split in half! It was glued together!

Guys, its not just happening to us, check out turbomustangs.com. I have customers over there as well that have been screwed. The things to watch for... 1st. sold by SSautochrome...stay away. 2nd MAster Power units with NO serial tags on the backing plate or paint on the leading edge of the compressor or turbine wheel means its a fake. 3rd. The "Super 70's" from ebay with shaft play from the factory, "be very afraid". 4th The assembly should rotate freely with no sound of rubbing from the CHRA. 5th and final is, all master power units come with factory warranty cards in the box, if this doesn't come in the box, then it maybe a fake. If it does, then FILL it out. Its not in the box for decoration. Lastly if you have any questions, call me I can help you spot a fake if your willing to pull the covers off. Also check you backing plate tag it should have the MP tag at the top and it should match one of these part #'s in this table below...

A new shipment from Brazil hits the shores Wednesday according to MP. So we will see. Hopefully they will get to us by beginning on next week, but you never know with U.S. Customs.

Yeah, I know of many people that went ahead and tried these sschrome turbos. All have failed. One turbo blew apart on the very first road test. We wouldn't even use these on our budget kits even if customers asked us to

All these stuff made by sschrome are made in china where technology is replaced by labor. That's why these manifolds are all hand ported and only sell for $150. They soon after fall apart because they don't have the knowledge or technology to put them together.

Why would anyone go the cheap route on FI, especially when dealing with something as essential as the turbo?
