procharger vs turbo sound thread!!

my neighbors 03 cobra makes me nut everytime i hear it. He does have a bigger supercharger and some motor work but still i wish i could get that sound out of my LS1.

It's probably just my own GM opinion here, but I hate the sound of the 03+ Cobras supercharger whine at high boost.

I prefer the sound of a good Vortec, or Procharger at high boost on an F-body.

The f-bodys I have been in with prochargers....I didn't even hear the supercharger over the exhaust under high boost. Guess it all varies...

The sound outside of the car, I would generally agree with you on. Inside the car though, you can hear the wistle loud and clear!

Unless of coarse you have an F1 on your F-body like these. Then you can pretty much hear the blower over everything!

Why are F1s any different sounding from the p-1sc or D-1sc? just because it's bigger??

The P600B is even smaller than the P1SC. It just goes to show you that they don't necissarily get louder when they are able to put out more boost.

I heard a F1R and it sound like a grashopper on roids !!! I vote turbo because its loud and not too common on f-bods plus when the gate opens you sound like a banshee on cane! But chargers are better sounding at Idle then turbos!

Surprisingly there doesn't seem to be too many people with the F1-R on their car. Not at least when compared to the D1SC, or the T-Trim. Therefore, you may have a hard time getting more video (let alone one with a thumpy cam). The two F1 vids I have ever seen, I already posted up.

Yes I do miss her already but she's in very good hands...we'll have to ask the new owner (Inspector12) which car is more intimidating since he almost finished with his TT SS.

Screw the sound, my brother owns an 03 Cobra running 454rwhp and 473rwtq...I look forward to smoting him tomorrow after my tune !!! Ya it sounds good but who cares...it's a personal preference and my turbo sounds DAMN good spooling up (haven't actually gone into boost, but still sounds good!!). I'll go into boost tomorrow and I'll love it. That's ALL that matters!

The sound in this vide at exactly 18 seconds, the flutter sound (dont know what else to call it) is the only cool noise a turbo makes in my opinion. This is the best example i could find, but i know theres much better ones on streetfire.
