Default 408 + S91 Hits the Dyno

New setup ran flawlessly on the dyno. Made 18 back to back pulls and didn't use a drop of oil or push a drop of water. Ran out of WG spring or we would have gone higher.

722whp 653wtq 14psi pump gas
908whp 771wtq 19psi good gas

Dyno was a Superflow AutoDyn 30 with eddy current load cell. This dyno is notorious for low readouts. On the graph I included my baseline 408 run without the turbo kit installed. 390whp 367wtq!

Video of the pulls. Turbo really comes alive at the end.

Geez......and on a Superflow.

Superflow is typically 15% low....same as a mustang dyno. Just do a quick reverse calculation and you can see what she makes on a Dynojet at the wheels.

Nice numbers with the s91. Looks like full boost on the dyno is about 5600-5800? Probably a lot lower on the street? I can't wait to see what it puts down when you turn it up more. That is one hell of a awesome car, I love the look!!!

I imagine the IAT's were low yet like she was not working hard. You are making a good bit more power per every psi you turn it up. Defiantly not close to hitting diminishing returns yet.

Yea, full boost didn't come on until late. The load on the dyno was set waayyyy to low. It definitely spools quicker than that on the street.

On the 19psi run starting IAT was 60* ending IAT 99*

I tried for 21psi but couldn't get any more out of the controller with a .6bar spring in the gate.

Sounds like you need some C02 ontop of the gate.

Would dynoing in a higher gear give you a better idea on turbo spool? I hear people say that the dyno doesn't load the turbo cars enough, how about dynoing in 5th?

You want to dyno at or close to a 1:1 ratio, which is what 4th gear is for an M6.

Thanks for the clarification. The suggestion of 5th gear is not for dyno numbers but to load the car so you can accurately change the timing table to see how much timing and fuel the car needs in what could be closer to simulate a real world 4th gear street pull.

I for one could care less what the dyno says, We use it to load the car and gives us a place to analyze the data under load in a controlled environment. The better your data is to real world situtations the better your fuel and timing maps will be.

If he went to a dynojet place he'd be well over 1000rwhp already. I would at least make a couple of hits on one just for bragging rights..hehe

Oh ok I understand what you're getting at. That makes sense, I've never had my car tuned the previous owner did, do tuners take your car out on the street and get some data logs from runs as well? I would think this would be the only way to really nail down a tune good.
