Why are you worried about the cam working out?

We have similar setups, and almost identical cams.

I am building this with the intent to be able to switch between gas and E85.
The availability of E85 near me is spotty at best.
I plan on driving the car a lot, so I'm thinking that I will be able to fill up with gas and just drop the fuel pressure to get me home without having to have a laptop in the car.
I wish the track had E85, then I would just fill up on the way home.
I think if I go to 160's that the car will idle and run like garbage on gas.
I also do not know of anyone running 160's with a stock PCM.
If they start putting in more E85 stations I will commit to the big boy injectors full time!
The car is turning into more of a "race" build so I may wind up running
a BS3 and bigger injectors in the future.
Who knows? You know how things get out of hand along the way.
The car started out with a warmed over 430HP SBC now it's all apart again!

BTW after seeing the outside pics that color looks almost exactly what my 74 had. Very nice.

Yep, I checked into that. It will get close but it will not hit.
I plan on putting stops in to be absolutely sure of that.
I want to keep the hot turbos as far away from the 'glass hood as practical.
Another one of those "split the difference" deals.....
GM should have prepared the car better for a twin LS1 build....
what were those engineers thinking???

Thanks for the compliment!

Well the cam in our project is 236/240 with 600 lift and outta the box L92s on a stock LQ4 6.0 truck bottom end. GMPP intake, intakeelbows.com elbow, GT47-88 and with 10# it went 5.82@119.5 in the 1/8th (1.36 60' on 275/60/15 Mickeys) on basically the first real pass. We're running factory ECU with a reflash without a MAF.

Well that makes me feel better. I was stabbing in the dark with the cam. Being turbo with ported L92's single plane etc... Mine is 238/242 .605"-.610" with a 115 lsa. Heads flow 343 intake 242.6 exhaust at .600 lift. Same intake and elbow as you. Thanks!

Awesome results, especially for the first real track outing!!!
Looks like we are all in the same boat cam-wize. Good call...

My goal is 3,000lb race weight and to be thrown out of the local track for
my birthday in July
Wish me luck for 8's this year in my first turbo project.
From looking at your results I should be there if all goes well.

Thanks Matt!

I hope to get the cold side fabbed by the weekend.
Then I will pull all the plumbing for final welding and HPC coating.
I can't wait to fire it up, it has been one delay after another.

Who spec'd out that cam for ya?
I'm just curious, being that we have VERY similar set-ups. I am going with twin 62-1 Turbonetics, L92 heads, 6.0L iron block, not sure about the cam specs yet as I am still doing research. I will probably run a Pantera EFI ECU, though.
What type of HP are you looking to run?...Boost levels?
Keep us informed, PLEASE!

Thanks

Jim, Got one side of the exhaust completed today, (DP to exhaust on car). What a PITA by yourself on jack stands. I do have a couple of nice blisters on my chest where the BB's burned through my shirt to show for it! Other side will be done later tonight. Give me a shout so we can figure out the schedule to get your DP's done. The weekend of April 5th is D day here!

The unfortunate thing is that no one can see how awsome this car looks up close. The glass nose on it looks incredible!

Oh, almost forgot, we get to celebrate 8'S this summer!

I was looking at your sig... Im in the process of building a TT Chevelle. (divorce has it on the back burner for now)

Sorry guys, progress has been very slow lately.
I am currently installing some tubular upper and lower arms with more positive caster to help the car track nicely at speed.
Also, adjusting the QA1's will be much easier now! The loss of 30lbs is also a good thing.
I will hopefully get a few more pics up this weekend.

Sixter~
The cam was spec'd by a non-sponsor, but the shop built it around what my goals are.
I am shooting for 8's at 150+, so I am figuring that 850+RWP should get it done.
This is my first turbo build, so I hope everything works out OK.
The car will be baselined at 12psi on E85, then I will creep up on more power/boost as I shake down the car at the track.

I designed the setup to make good power without a ton of boost, and I think the pair of S366's should give plenty of head room to step up the power later.
Race weight goal is 3,200lbs so hopefully the diet will ease the need for HP...

Sorry guys, the car has been backburnered for a while.
Carpal tunnel surgery, family BS, blah blah blah.....

Anyways, I have finished the front suspension.
The TRZ tubular arms and QA1 setup turned out nice.
I have finished mocking up the cold side tubing, and once I weld the waste gates on tomorrow I will be sending the tubing to be coated satin black.

Here are a few pics.

You'll love the TRZ arms. A bunch of weight savings and the built in limiters are VERY nice.

As far as guys talking about the thin decks on the L92 heads.... Well we yama-bonded them down and its taken ALOT more PSI than anybody gives them a chance for
