Are you using the Vette filter/reg for the main supply? What kind of HP can that thing support? -6an hoses I assume?
yes we are, -8 to the prefilter, -8 to the pump, -6 for everything after the pump. the only return is right in the back so a single -6 going up front. not sure what that will support but we wont be asking more than 300hp or so from it.

Quite some time ago, I was told (by Precision, I believe) that I couldn't have the turbo at an angle (like you've built) at more than 15*. Any chance you've researched this and found the same information? If not, it might be something to look in to...
Regardless, looking forward to more of the greatness.

i hope that isn't true. hard to see why it would matter considering the car might be doing a big wheely and be under 1g or more acceleration when you race. it would be like standing the turbo on end every time you went down the track.

I believe it has to do with how the bearings in the cartridge carry the load. At an angle, one will carry more than the other and I believe this causes the failures. Consider carrying a couch up/down a flight of stairs... the bottom guy (or gal) is carrying more of the load. The steeper the stairs, the less work the top 'guy' has to do.
I am definitely following this thread as I am planning a similar build on my 67 wagon after I finish the 67 sedan.

Any news/updates? This thing is just badass... I got a 69 nova SS roller and this just makes me want to finish it and not sell it... is this thing going to be street legal?
things are coming together. we picked up a tranny, shift kit, vacume mod, dip stick, mufflers and the converter will be here on tuesday. last night we got it fired up on the squirt. built some exhaust for it(still loud), put in the shift kit and vacume mod. john is plugging away on the wireing and alky fuel system.
tranny should be in the car next week, right after that we order the drive shaft, tunnel cover, lines... i could see going for a test drive in a month or so but it will probably take longer.
