got the tranny and converter in. cooler, valve springs, pushrods are all in. it now starts and we can make the yolk spin on the tranny.

got some bad news

in hind site it seems like we should have antisipated the problem. the 4 injectors on the elbow are for our pump gas fuel. they are throwing too much fuel into the 4 outside cylinders. it is running rough so we did a cylinder drop test and the 4 outside were not doing much. after rechecking some stuff we dicided to hook up the 8 injectors on the rails and it runs fine like that.

we went back to making it run with the 4 injectors on the hat and starting looking for a way to fix it. first thing was the injectors were pencil pattern injectors dumping all the fuel in the 4 corner injectors. we swaped in 2 other types of injectors and it didn't get any better. one of the sets are small and has a pretty wide pattern but that didn't help

we are kind of stuck for now. need to sleep on it. might have to give up on the hat mounted injectors and just go with twin rails.

we welded in some little tabs right in front of the injectors so the stream hits the tab and then deflects upward. car runs good now.

got the driveshaft in. wheels now turn.

we are using a megasquirt to run the tranny. so far it seems to work well. goes thru the gears like it should. right now the lock up function needs a little work but they probably have that part rewriten by now. i will post up some pics of the tranny conrol screen once i get that software on my computer.

we dont have much to do before we can take it for a drive and dyno but everyone is busy so there isn't much getting done. we have a little left on the 2nd fuel system. gas pedal, a little wireing.

just going to link the two together with a rod. then use the cable on one of them.

Because of your idle/low speed issues, I revised my build. I was going to do the same thing, but instead, just stacked the injectors on the runner.

Looking good.

yep. thats what we would do if we were starting over. seems to ilde and rev fine with the deflectors but 2 full sets of injectors is easy enough to do and you know that will be good.

Interesting injector in the intake tube.

Is this for driving under light loads and to assist the primary 4 injectors?

Is it okay to have the injector placed before the BOV?

Awsome build by the way!

Glenn

we didn't think that one thru too well but i am sure it will be fine. it was kind of an after thought. the 2 injectors go along with the 8 at the ports and will only flow at wot. any time i sprayed meth in the past it was well before the bov and this will be similur. might get a slight amout of vapor out right when we cut the throttle.

we put those in thinking it will help to cool the charge some before it gets to the intake.

I see. I like the idea of cooling the charge with the exterior injectors.

I guess you could always take the tubes out and flip them around and than switch sides with them.

That way the BOV is after before the injector. Either way, I bet you are good.

I wish I had spent the time like you guys have on this Mega squirt stuff. It looks like it works very well.

Thanks,
Glenn

I can already foresee you guys having some valve control issues using those patriot springs on such a high-hp build. The boost will kill them.

Thats what Shims are for... Any valve spring made can be shimmed for the correct duty. Surely you knew that. At least I hope you did before you popped off.
